Family risk factors are important factors influencing adolescents' mental health, but the complex dynamic mechanism between family cumulative risk and adolescents'mental health has not yet been explored:for example, does adolescent mental health have an impact on family risk in longitudinal studies? How does family cumulative risk affect adolescent mental health? In this study, longitudinal tracking research was adopted to investigate the developmental cascade model and mediation model between family cumulative risk and adolescent mental health(life satisfaction,anxiety/depression)based on the cumulative risk model and dual-factor model of mental health.Study one,In September 2018,March 2019,and November 2019,a stratified random sampling method was used to track the high school students in a total of four schools in Hubei, and 707 valid data were obtained.Based on the developmental cascade theory, the structural equation model was used to investigate the developmental cascade model between family cumulative risk and adolescent mental health. The study found:(1)86.1%of high school students experienced at least one family risk.High school students were most vulnerable to the risk of insufficient family resources(74.1%),followed by the risk of family atmosphere(49.5%).83.1%of high school students had a family cumulative risk index between 0 to 4.(2)T1 family resource risk and family atmosphere risk significantly positively predicted life satisfaction at T1,T2 and T3,and significantly negatively predicted anxiety/depression at T1 and T2.Family resource risk and family atmosphere risk have a stable predictive effect on mental health.T1 family structure risk does not predict T1,T2,and T3 mental health.(3)Two longitudinal cross-lag models that controlled for the stability of the constructs and within time covariation between the constructs were fit using structural equation modeling. The results showed that there was a cascad effect between family cumulative risk and adolescent mental health:family cumulative risk can be significant predicts life satisfaction but cannot predict anxiety/depression;life satisfaction significantly predicts family cumulative risk, and anxiety/depression significantly predicts family cumulative risk. There is no cascad effect between life satisfaction and anxiety/depression.(4)There were no gender, grade,or school type differences in the developmental cascade model between family cumulative risk and adolescent mental health.Study two,In September 2018,December 2018,and March 2019,a stratified random sampling method was used to track the high school students in a total of three schools in Hubei, and 714 valid data were obtained. The structural equation model was used to investigate the longitudinal mediating effect of social problem solving ability between family cumulative risk and adolescent mental health. The study found:(1)There is a mediating role for social problem solving ability between family cumulative risk and adolescent mental health, but the positive and negative dimensions of social problem solving ability have different mediating effects on positive and negative indicators of mental health.(2)Positive social problem-solving ability has a partial mediating effect between family cumulative risk and life satisfaction, but no mediating effect between family cumulative risk and anxiety/depression.(3)Negative social problem solving ability has a partial mediating effect between family cumulative risk and anxiety/depression,but no mediating effect between family cumulative risk and life satisfaction.
