| Reading teaching is an important part of English teaching.The new curriculum standard regards the cultivation and development of students’ reading literacy as an important path to effectively achieve the goal of subject education.Therefore,reading literacy,as an essential character and key ability of junior high school students attracts the attention of English educators.Based on the observation of two classes that adopt cooperative learning to teach English reading every week,combined with the questionnaire and interview,this paper attempts to study the influence of cooperative learning on students’ reading literacy and students’ emotional attitude towards cooperative learning.This thesis is mainly based on Social Interdependence Theory,Zone of Proximal Development Theory and Constructivism Theory.On this basis,questionnaire,interview and classroom observation were used to analyze and explore the impact of cooperative learning reading teaching on students’ reading literacy,as well as how students’ emotional attitude towards it.To this end,this study attempts to find answers to these three questions.First,how does the cooperative learning reading teaching affect students’ reading ability? Secondly,how does the cooperative learning reading teaching affect students’ reading character? Finally,what is the student’s emotional attitude towards the cooperative learning reading teaching?After the statistics of 364 questionnaire data,the collation of the results of the interviews with 6 students,and the classroom observation,the thesis has come to the following conclusions.Firstly,the cooperative learning reading teaching can effectively improve students’ reading ability,especially in terms of comprehension ability and language knowledge.Secondly,cooperative learning reading teaching can promote students to form a good reading character,bring rich reading experience to students,and make them gradually develop good reading habits.Thirdly,students have a supportiveand affirmative emotional attitude to the cooperative learning teaching and believe that they can fulfill their respective roles under it.Therefore,it is of practical significance to implement cooperative learning teaching strategies in English reading teaching in junior high schools.This study hopes that teachers can establish the concept of cultivating students’ reading literacy and determine the correct reading teaching objectives.It is also hoped that students can change their past bad reading habits and get a good reading experience,so as to form a certain reading character. |
