“Scenes from Childhood op.15” is one of Robert Schumann’s most representative piano suites,which is consisted of 13 subtitled music.The work mainly expressed that Robert Schumann,as an adult,suffered from the sadness and torment of not being able to be together with his lover,and deeply recalled the childhood life of her.In the same period,the piano suite named “Scenes from Childhood op.62” created by musician Theodor Kullak is composed of 12 subtitled music.Different from Schumann,Kullak ’s works mainly stood in the perspective of children,and simply and intuitively expressed their playing scenes and sights.Although the two piano suites are works of the same period and have the same theme,according to the composer’s completely different personal life experience and creative technique,there are certain and obvious differences in lots of aspect,especially in characteristics and performance.This article takes two piano suites with the same name as the research object,respectively starting from their creative backgrounds and characteristics,combined with playing practice,the author studies in-depth and has a detailed analysis of touch keys,pedals,melody lines,jumps,and decorative sounds.It sorted out the methods of dealing with details and the skills in the performance of this two works.It aims to provide some reference and guidance for the performance of the two works in future.
