| Sargent’s oil painting portraits are highly distinguished,yet his watercolors are rarely known.However,with the development of today’s media,they are gradually being discovered by the public.His watercolors are exquisite and highly skilled,earning them high recognition and praise.This paper briefly outlines Sargent’s watercolor language formation process through his career,and analyzes this process by taking the four paintings in the "Simplon Pass" group as examples.Sargent’s watercolor features and special techniques are summarized as "oil painting-style watercolors".His light colors and techniques are all derived from oil paintings,but instead transferred onto paper.Sargent’s watercolor paintings have inherited the past and brought about a profound impact on the evolvement of watercolor paintings,bringing great inspiration to modern artistic creation. |
