| With the gradual growth of the number of the elderly who live alone of our country,because of none of children at nearby,the smaller interpersonal circles,the transformed social role after retirement and long time living alone,the elders of many cities have missed some spiritual comfort.As a major aiming at supporting service to the disadvantaged groups,social work for the elders is an important work in the field of whole social work,which can work well in comforting the elders who are one of the main service object,group work method has more advantages in solving the elderly spiritual comfort.In view of the spiritual needs of the elders living alone of a ties and the function of social work,this study is meant explore the theoretical and practical significance of group work in solving the problem about the missing of spiritual comforts for the elders.In this study,the author uses activity and social support theory as the theoretical direction.Firstly,the author investigate the needs of the elders of XHY community of BaoDing in Hebei province according to the questionnaire approach and unstructured interviews.And these needs are classed into three kinds definitely cultural and entertainment needs,interpersonal communication needs,esteem needs and emotional needs.The 9 volunteer elders are selected as the respondents to meet the demand of cultural and entertainment and esteem,to improve the ability to communicate and self-comfort by three stages,a total of 9 issues of group activities.Finally,through the evaluation,the author finds that the mental status of the 9 elders are improved obviously,their cultural and entertainmental needs are satisfied,self-efficacy and the abilities to communicate are promoted in varying degrees.What's more,the mental support network is constructed,the group ability to achieve self spiritual comfort is enhanced.Therefore,the intervention of the group work is effective and the group work achieves its goal. |
