Study On The Spiritual Solace Of The Aged In Social Welfare Institutes By Group Work Under Strength Perspective

With the population aging process accelerated,all sectors of society have paid more and more attention to endowment problem.In addition to money and material inputs,there are also many people pay attention to the spiritual needs of the aged.Normal aged can get spiritual support from their children and relatives,but the aged who live in social welfare institutes don't have supporters,so their spiritual needs are hardly to be satisfied.These people are in poor health,making little contribution to society,with no income under problem perspective,which make them becoming vulnerable.Taking the elderly in the social welfare institutes as the research object,this paper analyzes their living conditions and spiritual needs,as well as the shortcomings of the social welfare institutes' service for the aged.Based on that,this article put forward the study on the spiritual needs of the aged in social welfare institutes by group work under strength perspective such as respect need,communication need,culture and entertainment need and self realization need.The purpose of the study is to make the aged recognize their own inherent superiority,the support from the external conditions,create self-fulfilling,and enhance their happiness.According to the reality and needs of the elderly in the welfare home,the author recruited six members and they become a self-help group,and organized four group activities.During activities,the social worker mainly played the role of assistant and helper,designed entertainment and communication activities and plays,aiming at promoting mutual understanding among the aged,enhancing their enthusiasm and initiative.And also,the aged can strength their self-identification through the encouraging and supporting each other.At the end of the article,the author has summed up the relevant experience and reflection of meeting the spiritual need of theaged in social welfare institutes by group work,hoping the aged can have a happy life and create self-realization.
