Since ancient times, the history of China and South Korea has been not only deeply connected, but also passed through a lot of common historical events. The study of Korean history cannot exist without mentioning the history of China. However, the historical knowledge and interpretation of the same historical events are not the same in each country. One of the most obvious differences in the understanding of history between China and Korea is the history textbooks of the two countries. Thus, this paper intends to compare and analyze the history textbooks currently used in Chinese and Korean high schools. When Korean history textbooks cover the content of Chinese history, they will also be compiled on the basis of local Chinese materials.Nevertheless, for South Korean experts,China's history is also a source of world history,so it is narrated or judged from the perspective of Koreans. And because of the characteristics of textbooks, editors will actively reflect the country's view of history,so although it is inconsistent with the facts,it is possible to narrate content that is conducive to their own country. Therefore, through this study,we can find different narrative records in the textbooks of the two countries, and introduce Korean learners to more accurate records in Chinese history textbooks.Through this study,we can understand the aspiration of history education in both countries, and how the history textbooks of each country influence the student's understanding of history. This paper compares and analyses the structural characteristics of Chinese and Korean high school history textbooks and the narrative content of "Chinese Modern History" by taking Chinese high school history textbooks and Korean high school East Asian history textbooks as objects. The main goal of this study is to understand the similarities and differences in the narrative of Chinese and Korean history textbooks, and to infer the influence of Chinese and Korean history textbooks on shaping students historical outlook and values.
