At the beginning of the reform and opening up,not only had the ‘marriage problems of older youth' been a personal problem but also a social problem.Under this background,Many newspapers and magazines had opened up marriage columns to provide marriage channels for older single people.The development of media technology is promoting the change of the society.After the reform and opening up,the wide application of media technology in the marriage market is constantly enriching the ways of people's marriage.This form of public marriage-seeking by mass media can be regarded as a kind of ‘media marriage'.Previous studies on media or marriage-seeking indicate that the female images in ‘media'is the product of epoch,an objective reflection in the long historical process,and the result of interaction and mutual influence of various new things,habits,traditional culture and traditional concepts in the society.Under the background of reform and opening up,this paper has a glimpse into the female image with the help of the open private topic of "marriage proposal".On the one hand,it has analyzed the characteristics of female image changes in different periods of China since the reform and opening up,and explored the deep reasons behind the female image through the surface layer.Based on this,the main body of this paper mainly includes four aspects:1.Combing the historical development of media marriage since the reform and opening up as the background information of the paper,this paper proposes the reasons for taking the printing media as the specific research object.2.Take modern family as the sample representative of print media for content analysis.The research found that since the reform and opening up,the image of women in media marriage presents the characteristics of ‘stability' and ‘change'.‘Stability' is reflected in the fact that traditional stereotypes generally exist at the beginning and end of the reform and opening up,but with the development of time,women show different characteristics in different periods.3.The female image is improved in the construction of the self and the other.Secondly,the female image constructed by the other is analyzed to pave the way for the later exploration of the reasons for the change of the female image.4.Based on the above multiple forces to shape female images,this paper analyzes the reasons for the changes in female images since the reform and opening up from the perspectives of sociology and communication.These reasons mainly include four aspects,one is politics,reform and opening up policies to promote the development of the women in the economy and education,to promote the image of the female self career and education for cognition,to get rid of the ‘innocence is the virtue for women' conventional wisdom,and as an important condition in the media text expression.However,due to the restrictions on women's participation in politics and employment in the reform and opening up,women's professional image has been stereotyped as traditional professional practitioners.The second is the influence of consumption transformation and consumption culture.Under the market economy,the transformation of China's consumption structure urges women to express their hobbies,which actually reflects their pursuit of life pleasure.Third,the influence of social and cultural values,especially after the reform and opening up about the freedom of love,divorce concept changes,so that women dare to open marriage.Fourthly,the construction of mass media.Firstly,the change of the situation of print media under the impact of other media technologies affects the agenda setting of media institutions.Secondly,images presented in other contexts in the media influence women's
