"Suspension Reading Method" refers to the reading method which means setting suspense according to early reading materials and consciously guiding young children make predictions and associations based on their own experience and understanding,and then compare the child's guess with the content.This paper explores the relations between Suspension Reading Method and the early reading comprehension ability of children aged 5-6 years through education experiment method.This article mainly refers to the structure of the B-story understanding part which is from Yue Yuan's Assessment Tools of Children's Early Reading Ability:(1)Emotional cognition(2)Plot description and picture observation(3)Reasoning and guessing,using pre-test and pro-test materials to test the early reading ability of 60 children in the same kindergarten.Using SPSS20.0 to analyze the data's difference of early reading comprehension ability of children,the research results show that:(1)compared with the conventional reading method.The Suspension Reading Method has a critical role in promoting the ability of reasoning and guessing for the children in the top class in a kindergarten.(2)Suspension Reading Method can significantly improve the early reading comprehension ability of the children in the top class in a kindergarten.(3)both conventional reading method and Suspension Reading Method can dramatically improve the ability of picture observation,plot description and emotional cognition for the children in the top class in a kindergarten.Therefore,on the whole,the Suspension Reading Method is better than conventional reading method for improving children's early reading comprehension ability especially in reasoning and guessing ability.According to the research results,the researchers proposed the following suggestions:(1)choosing the appropriate suspension reading material: the picture book with suspension and association closes to children's life experience and suits for their psychological characteristics.(2)enhancing teachers' teaching skills on Suspension Reading Method: improving teachers' professionalism and ability of understanding a picture book and designing problems.(3)enriching children's way of guessing: migrating various experience,using painting and situational performance as an extension to ensure Suspension Reading Method can play its role better and further promote the development of early reading comprehension ability for children.
