Research On New Words In "New Ladder-Intermediate Chinese Course"

The research object of this thesis is the new word part of New Ladder--Intermediate Chinese Course.This set of teaching materials is divided into three volumes: upper,middle and lower,aiming at cultivating and improving students’ comprehensive ability to communicate in Chinese.A set of comprehensive Chinese textbooks suitable for intermediate-level foreign students.The thesis starts from three aspects: the amount and level of new words,the recurrence of new words and the interpretation of English words,and conducts a comprehensive investigation on the compilation of new words.After investigation,it was found that there are some problems in the input of new words in this textbook,such as insufficient input of new words,too many new words for zero recurrence,inconsistency of interpretation and context of the text.Through research on these issues,it is concluded that the writing of new words should strictly follow the requirements of the outline,catalog the new words suitable for the student level,give full play to the role of texts and exercises as the carrier of new word reproduction to improve the recurrence rate,and the definition of new words should be closely combined with the text and other conclusions.It is expected to enrich the research on the textbooks of this subject and at the same time contribute to the subsequent optimization of the textbooks.
