As a new perspective on pro-social behavior, social mindfulness behavior refers to behaviors caused by caring about others with good intentions.Although there are a large number of studies on the relationship between self-control and prosocial behavior, the conclusions are not uniform. Moreover, there is a lack of related research on self-control and social mindfulness behavior in the context of Chinese culture.Trait self-control reflects the stability of individual behaviors, while state self-control reflects the volatility of individual behaviors.Based on this, this study uses questionnaires and experimental methods to investigate the impact of self-control on social mindfulness behavior from the perspective of traits and states. In study 1,the Self-Control Scale(SCS)and the Social Mindfulness Paradigm(So Mi Paradigm)were used. The 84 undergraduates and graduate students in Nanjing were selected as the subjects to explore the impact of trait self-control on social mindfulness behavior.Study 2 selected 125 high and low trait self-control subjects, using 2(trait self-control: high level / low level)x2(self-depletion: high loss /low-loss)experimental design, based on the self-control strength model to discuss self-control in social mindfulness behavior. The results show that:(1)trait self-control is positively correlated with social mindfulness behavior, and the correlation between the dimensions of impulse control and resistance to social mindfulness behavior has reached a significant level, which means individuals with high self-control traits show more social mindfulness behaviors;(2)the main effect of trait self-control is significant, and high-trait individuals show more social mindfulness behaviors under different states of loss;(3)The interaction effect of trait self-control and self depletion is significant, and under high-loss states, social mindfulness behaviors of low-trait individuals decrease significantly, while those of high-trait has not changed significantly;(4)the occurrence of social mindfulness behavior is more a result of executive control, because trait self-control can effectively predict the appearance of social mindfulness behaviors, and the influence of state self-control varies from person to person.
