Open courses have created a new opportunity for individual learning and growth.Learners can receive all kinds of famous teachers' courses from all over the world regardless of time and area. This great advantage makes the opening course more and more popular. However, after the heat of the open course, people began to think about how to optimize the teaching quality of the open course.Without the face-to-face guidance of teachers, high quality learning resources seem to be precious. How to optimize the quality of learning resources has also appeared. For example, how to improve the utilization of learning resources, how to solve the problem of "learning lost" and how to enrich the form of learning resources in the open course learning process. With the coming of the era of reading pictures, the characteristics of "one picture wins thousands of words" has become more prominent. The trend of visual viewing is more and more obvious.Image plays an increasingly important role in people's lives.Visualization can materialize, visualize and visualize complex content. The author was inspired by the concept of visualization, combined with the "Visual Culture and Media Literacy" course design and implementation,in order to solve puzzles and problems of learning in open courses, improve the learning effect, hope to bring some references for the learning resources design of open courses.Firstly, the author sorted out the literature on visualization at home and abroad, and understood the research status in this field at home and abroad, which lays a solid foundation for further research.Summarized the research ideas and experiences of other scholars, and reflected on the inspiration that can bring to this study. The author also analyzed the necessity and feasibility of the development of visual learning resources, and the value of the research and whether it could be carried out smoothly. Then, based on the reference cases, the author constructed learning resources visualization design process of visual culture open course after learning from the excellent visual design theory and design method:investigation and analysis, select visualization tools, visualization prototype design, visual content design and visual vision design.Based on the Note100 platform of the Nanjing Normal University, the author created "Visual Culture and Media Literacy" open course. After the investigation of learning styles and learning needs of learners of open courses, according to the survey results, the author put forward the four design prototypes of visual learning resources:Pre class guidance visualization, clearly understand the structure of course;knowledge structue visualization, systematically arrange knowledge;learning path visualization, logically inspire and guide;knowledge retrieval visualization, simply query resource. Two rounds of visual design with these four prototypes are carried out and practical activities are actualized, too. Finally, the author verifies the learning effect of the learners by analyzing the quality of the tasks, the results of the test and the content of the commentary.Through the learner satisfaction survey and in-depth interview, the learners' evaluation and suggestions on the design of visual learning resources are obtained. The results show that the form of learning resources in open courses needs to be enriched, and there are some advantages in visualization.Learners' visual learning style needs attention, and visualization can meet needs.Visual learning resources can improve the utilization of learning resources, enrich the form of learning resources, organize learning process and facilitate resource retrieval to some extent.Visual culture open course visual learning resources have achieved good learning results, and the overall satisfaction of the learners is high.
