| In the process of urbanization in China,Chinese villages gradually decline under the strategy of urban-oriented development.In order to solve the issues of agriculture,farmer,rural area and narrow the gap between urban and rural areas,China proposes the strategy of rural revitalization and emphasizes that thriving businesses is the key point of rural revitalization.Due to the different endowments of industrial development factors,the level of industrial development among regions are quiet different.It's important to clearly understand the phase and problems of industrial development in various regions of China.Therefore this study analyze the performance of rural industrial development in various regions of China from both perspectives of status and efficiency.This study firstly reviews the related theory about rural industrial development and the development of domestic and foreign rural industries.And then it summarizes the development factors of the rural industry from a systematic perspective.Meanwhile,it defines connotation of rural industrial development.Secondly,entropy-TOPSIS method is used to evaluate the status performance of rural industrial development,for which 18 indicators from the dimension of policy status,internal development status and external environment are employed.Meanwhile,DEA-BBC model and Malmquist Production Index are applied jointly to evaluate the efficiency performance of rural industrial development.Finally,the principle of quadrant map analysis approach is used to establishe analysis framwork of rural industrial development from both perspectives of status and efficiency.By using this status-efficiency bi-dimensional analysis framework,the rural industrial development of 30 Chinese provinces during the year 2007-2017 are investigated.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: Firstly,the level of rural industrial development status in China from 2007 to 2017 is always high in the east and low in the west,and the gap between various regions have decreased first and then stabilized.Secondly,the technical efficiency of China's rural industry has increased first and then decreased from 2007 to 2017.And it's better in the east than the other area.In eastern regions,scale factor is the main cause of inefficiency.In the western regions,the lack of management technique leads to low technical efficienty.Finally,according to the status and efficiency performance of rural industrial development,30 provinces in China are divided into five types.Different types of regions should clarify the current development problems and future development strategies. |
