With the development of society and the science and technology,total field work is applied into Large-area and large-scale topographic mapping projects to implement total station surveying,level surveying and GNSS-RTK surveying,which has caused the obvious disadvantages of low productivity and excessive labor intensity.The development and application of three-dimensional(3D)laser scanning system provides a new way of data acquisition in the field of Surveying and mapping geographic informationand a new working idea to solve the above problems,which is another technical innovation in the field of Surveying and mapping.The 3D laser scanning system can accurately obtain the 3D coordinate information of the point position by the free contact and fast 3D scanning mode.The 3D laser scanning system can be used on many platforms.At present,it has been used in the 3D laser scanning systems on the ground,on-board laser scanning radar system and on-board 3D laser scanning system.The application of different platforms of 3D laser scanning system in the field of Surveying and mapping has its own characteristics,advantages and disadvantages.However,Large-scale topographic maps with the rich representation of terrain elements and high precision cannot be completed effectively by using the only one 3D laser scanning system.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out multi-platform 3D mapping Study on the application of laser scanning system in large scale mapping.This paper studies the relevant data at home and abroad,expounds the principle of various large-scale mapping,compares and summarizes the specific mapping methods,and concludes the operational advantages of 3D laser scanning system in large-scale topographic mapping projects.By analyzing and comparing the working principle and method of three kinds of platform 3D laser scanning system,this paper summarizes the applicable scope and technical characteristics of three kinds of platform 3D laser scanning system,puts forward a set of large-scale mapping scheme based on Multi-platform 3D laser scanning system.Finally,this paper takes the 1:1000 scale topographic mapping project of Shanghai as an example to verify the proposed scheme and analyze the results.The results show that using the multi-platform 3d laser scanning system described in this paper to map large scale topographic map can greatly improve the mapping efficiency and product quality of large scale mapping project.Through the research on the large scale topographic mapping scheme of the integrated multi-platform 3d laser scanning system,in this paper compared with the traditional large scale topographic mapping method in the whole field,it has clear technical advantages and application potential.In addition,the direction of further improvement and development is also put forward.
