With the appearance of intellectualization,project curriculum has inevitably became the development direction of vocational education in order to go with the trend of the times.While the most important factor that influence the quality of project curriculum is the design of learning situation.In a project curriculum,a proper learning situation is conducive to cultivate students’ comprehensive vocational ability.This research adapts the methods of literature research and case analysis to study the learning situation of a project curriculum-Design of Shirts-a course of the dress and design major of a secondary vocational school.We select three situation cases based on-color,fabric,and pattern-which are three basic elements of costume design.In this process,we will use mood board to give students a real experience of the complete process of making portfolio.This paper is divided into below four parts:The first chapter is the introduction,which clarifies the object of the study by stating the background of the research,defines the concepts of project curriculum and learning situation,The current project curriculums from domestic and abroad and researches of learning situations have been sorted out and commented as well through reviewing previous documents.Based on the mastered academic documents,researching issues and researching methods are brought out.The second chapter mainly refers to researching achievements of abroad scholars to analyze theoretical basis of situations,and discussed the internal correlation between learning situation and three aspects respectively,which are constructivism learning theory,situational recognition and learning theory,and pragmatic education theory.And the theory framework is created based on cases designing of learning situations.Combined with the features of project curriculum,chapter three mainly describes design principles and strategies of learning situations based on project curriculum proposals.In designing learning situations of fashion design teaching,the authenticity principle,emotional principle and problem principle should be followed.And team corporation learning situation,real situation and problem situation that are suitable for students learning can be created in teaching design to improve their learning interest.The four chapter confirms project curriculum of shirt series design,the design of situation cases is carried out by four project modules as the production of emotional board,design of shirt color,design of shirt surface’s subsidiary material and design of shirt styles,which simulates the process of designer in making clothes business plan.
