Oil and gas pipeline opening cartridge knife is an important part of the maintenance and repair equipment,maintenance and repair process of the pipeline opening is mainly connected to the bypass or under the blocker.The blocker is divided into disc type,folding type and capsule type blocker,of which the devolved disc type and folding type blocker need to be equal to the diameter of the opening barrel knife,at present the domestic oil and gas pipeline diameter is larger,so need a large diameter opening barrel knife,capsule type blocker requires a relatively small diameter of the barrel knife.For large-diameter open hole cartridge cutters,if the quality of the cartridge cutter can be reduced,it is convenient to install and save costs;for small-diameter open hole cartridge cutters,if the tooth structure and cutting parameters can be optimized,it can improve the cutting performance and cutting efficiency.Therefore,the study of oil and gas pipeline opening barrel cutters is particularly important.In this paper,we propose a structure with a combination of double teeth and staggered cutting edges according to the current development of oil and gas pipeline open cutters at home and abroad.The open hole cartridge cutter is a closed cutting,in order to ensure sufficient chip space,the number of teeth,tooth pitch,chip tank size and other parameters are calculated.According to the high strength and hardness of X80 pipe steel and the intermittent dry cutting characteristics of the barrel cutter,the material of the cutter body is 9Sis Cr and the material of the cutter teeth is YT5 cemented carbide,and the angle of the cutter teeth,the type of cutting edge blunting and cutting parameters are determined.The 3D model of the barrel cutter was established by Solidworks.Theoretical calculation of the cutting force and cutting heat of the barrel tool was carried out by consulting the tool design manual.Combined with the results of cutting force and cutting temperature calculation,Ansys Workbench software was used to carry out static and thermal stress analysis of the barrel cutter to verify the strength and reliability of the barrel cutter,and modal analysis of the barrel cutter was carried out to avoid resonance between the barrel cutter and the working system of the hole opener,which could lead to abnormal damage to the barrel cutter.DEFORM simulation software was used to simulate the cutting of a double-tooth and triple-tooth barrel cutter,comparing chip patterns,tooth temperatures,cutting forces and workpiece stresses.The comparative analysis verifies the feasibility of the double-tooth barrel cutter design and summarises the advantages and disadvantages of the double-tooth barrel cutter for future barrel cutter research.
