The development of tourism needs high-quality ecological environment.The "Two Mountains Theory" points out the direction for the improvement of tourism ecological environment.The development of low-carbon tourism is the experimental field for practicing the "Two Mountains Theory".Therefore,it is of great significance for the green development of tourism destinations to study the situation of stakeholders ’willingness to pay for low-carbon Tourism under the background of the "Two Mountains Theory".From the perspective of residents and taking Jiawang District of Xuzhou City as a case,from the perspective of environmental economics and economics,using conditional value method and Logit model,this paper studies the willingness of destination residents to pay for the development of low-carbon tourism and its influencing factors,and evaluates the amount of residents’ willingness to pay,and draws the following conclusions:(1)Only 55.7% of the residents in the survey are willing to pay for the development of low-carbon tourism.The average willingness to pay is 49.48 yuan per person per year,and the residents’ awareness of the importance of low-carbon tourism is not high.(2)Regression analysis shows that age,personal income,occupation,awareness of the importance of low-carbon tourism and satisfaction with the ecological environment of scenic spots have significant effects on residents’ willingness to pay for the development of low-carbon tourism.Residents’ gender,family distance from nearby scenic spots and personal income stability have no significant impact on their willingness to pay for lowcarbon tourism development.(3)Residents’ personal income,occupation and awareness of the importance of low-carbon tourism are positively correlated with their willingness to pay.Residents with high annual income and those engaged in tourism-related activities think that residents who are important in developing low-carbon tourism have higher willingness to pay for developing low-carbon tourism;residents’ age and satisfaction with the status quo of tourism environment are negatively correlated with their willingness to pay.The older residents have lower willingness to pay for the residents who are highly satisfied with the current tourism environment.According to the above conclusions,the following policy recommendations are put forward:(1)Speed up the development of tertiary industry such as tourism,effectively improve the income level of residents,and mobilize the enthusiasm of residents to participate in the development of low-carbon tourism.(2)To foster social public opinion and environmental values that promote the participation of residents of tourist destinations in the development of low-carbon tourism and improve the tourism environment.(3)Make full use of tourism resources to promote the employment development of residents. |
