Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Mild And Moderate Osteoarthritis Of Knee With Deficiency Of Liver And Kidney By Umbilical Acupuncture

Objective:The purpose of this study is to explore the clinical effect and safety of navel acupuncture in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee with deficiency of liver and kidney,and to provide a new,safe and effective treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee.Method:The standard subjects were randomly assigned to the treatment group(umbilicus acupuncture group)and the control group(conventional acupuncture group)according to the proportion of 1:1,with 30 cases in each group.In the treatment group,the acupoints were selected according to the umbilicus Luoshu hologram,and the three acupuncture points were mainly used to invigorate the kidney(female selected kun,qian and kan;male selected kun,dui and kan).In the control group,it used conventional acupuncture,and the mainly points were knee eyes,Liangqiu,Xuehai,Yanglingquan,Ashi and Dazhu.Moreover,Ganshu,Shenshu and Qihai were selected for deficiency of liver and kidney.All patients were treated 3 times a week,4 weeks as a course of treatment,and the study had a course of treatment.Before and after the treatment,VAS,WOMAC and TCM symptom scores were given to the qualified subjects.Then we used SPSS 22.0 statistical software to analyze the data and compare the differences between the two groups before and after the treatment,so as to analyze and evaluate their effectiveness and safety.Result:1.The basic data(gender,age,course of disease)and vas,WOMAC scores of the two groups before treatment were statistically analyzed,there was no significant difference(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups have comparability.2.Comparison of VAS scores before and after treatment in the two groups:compared within the group,the VAS scores after treatment in the two groups were lower than before treatment,with significant statistical significance(P<0.001);compared between the groups,there was no significant difference in the difference of VAS score between the two groups before and after treatment and VAS scores between the two groups after treatment,with no statistical significance(P>0.05).3.Comparison of WOMAC scores before and after treatment:comparison within the group:in the two groups,the scores of each item of WOMAC and total scores after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.001);comparison between the two groups:there was no significant difference in the difference between the scores of each item and the total scores of WOMAC before and after treatment,and the difference between the two groups after treatment,with no statistical significance(P>0.05).4.Clinical efficacy evaluation:after treatment,the total effective number of patients in the treatment group was 29,with a total effective rate of 96.67%;the total effective number of patients in the control group was 27,with a total effective rate of 90%.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).5.Safety evaluation:before and after the treatment,the vital signs(blood pressure,pulse,respiration,heart rate)of the two groups of subjects were not significantly abnormal,and there were no adverse reactions such as fainting,stagnation and broken needles during the treatment,suggesting that the two treatment methods have good safety.Conclusion:1.Navel acupuncture and conventional acupuncture are effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with deficiency of liver and kidney.2.Navel acupuncture and conventional acupuncture can improve the joint pain,joint stiffness and activity function of knee osteoarthritis patients with liver and kidney deficiency in mild and moderate stage,and the two therapies have the same clinical effect.3.In the course of treatment,there were no adverse reactions and side effects between the two therapies,suggesting that both therapies had good safety.To sum up,Both umbilical needle and conventional acupuncture can improve the joint pain,stiffness and functional activity of patients with mild and moderate knee osteoarthritis of deficiency of liver and kidney.And the final efficacy of the two treatment methods is equivalent.Compared with conventional acupuncture,the umbilical needle has advantages of less points,simple operation,and no need to pursue the gas response.So the navel acupuncture provides a new,safe and effective acupuncture treatment for mild and moderate knee osteoarthritis with liver and kidney deficiency,which is worthy of clinical application.
