ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Lai’s Tongyuan acupuncture in the treatment of qi stagnation and blood stasis type sudden deafness through a randomized controlled clinical trial,to preliminarily explore the mechanism of Tongyuan acupuncture in the treatment of qi stagnation and blood stasis type sudden deafness, and to provide clinical basis for the treatment of qi stagnation and blood stasis type sudden deafness by Tongyuan acupuncture in the future.MethodsFrom October 2018 to December 2019,60 inpatients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type sudden deafness were selected from the Department of Otolaryngology,Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine.According to the principle of randomized control grouping,60 patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group,30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with methyl prednisolone sodium succinate,Ginkgo biloba extract injection and Mecobalamin tablet. The treatment group was treated with Tongyuan acupuncture on the basis of the control group. The results of pure tone audiometry before and after treatment were recorded and observed in the two groups.SPSS 25.0 was used to analyze the data, and the differences of the mean threshold of hearing, the clinical effect of deafness, the effect of accompanying symptoms(tinnitus, vertigo)and Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)were compared between the two groups.Results(1)Intra group comparisonIn terms of the mean hearing threshold and Hamilton anxiety Scale(HAMA)score, the difference between the treatment group and the control group before and after comparison was extremely significant(P<0.01).(2)Inter group comparison1.After treatment, there was no significant difference in the average hearing threshold between the two groups of patients(P>0.05),but the difference in the average hearing threshold between the two groups of patients before and after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.In terms of clinical efficacy of deafness, the total effective rate in the treatment group was 93.33%,and the total effective rate in the control group was 73.33%.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).3.With regard to the efficacy of accompanying symptoms, the total effective rate of treating tinnitus in the treatment group was 65%and 60.87%in the control group;the total effective rate of treating dizziness in the treatment group was 81.82%and the control group was 76.92%.After statistical analysis, there was no significant difference in the efficacy of tinnitus and dizziness between the two groups(P>0.05).4.After treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups of HAMA scores(P>0.05),and the difference in HAMA scores before and after treatment was significantly different(P<0.05).ConclusionTongyuan acupuncture combined with western medicine and western medicine alone can effectively treat qi stagnation and blood stasis type sudden deafness. They are helpful to improve hearing, relieve anxiety symptoms, and safe without side effects, but Tongyuan acupuncture combined with western medicine is better than western medicine alone in improving the average hearing threshold,HAMA score and clinical efficacy of deafness, which is worth clinical use and promotion.
