| Objective: The study aimed at comparing and observing the clinical efficacy of massage with menthol ointment and massage with petroleum jelly ointment in infantile wind-heat type cold and evaluating the effectiveness of menthol ointment in the treatment of infantile wind-heat type cold,providing a basis for its clinical promotion and application.Methods: The study selected 62 infants with wind-heat type colds who met the inclusion criteria and randomly divided into 2 groups with 31 cases in each group at a ratio of 1:1according to the order of visits.In the treatment group,menthol ointment was used for infantile massage,once a day for 3 days.The control group used petroleum jelly ointment as the medium,and the rest were the same as the treatment group.The scores of symptoms such as fever,pharyngeal swelling,nasal congestion,runny nose,and cough were recorded before and after treatment,and SPSS 26.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data.Result: The total effective rate of the experimental group was 96.77% while the control group was 93.55%,P<0.05(P=0.044),the difference was statistically significant.There was no significant difference in runny nose,sneezing,thirst,and loss of appetite between two groups(P>0.05),but the symptoms of fever,pharyngeal swelling,nasal congestion,cough,and expectoration in the experimental group were better than those in the control group with significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion: Menthol ointment massage curing infantile wind-heat type cold has better curative effect than petroleum jelly ointment massage,and symptoms such as fever,pharyngeal swelling,nasal congestion,cough,expectoration can be improved,indicating that the use of menthol ointment as a massage medium in the treatment of infantile windheat type cold is worthy of clinical promotion. |
