| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of TCM acupoint application of Mingmen in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea with cold coagulation and blood stasis,in order to select a more convenient, more economical and effective treatment method for clinical use,and increase the patient’s compliance and treatment rate.MethodsA total of 68 primary dysmenorrhea patients were selected from the gynecological outpatient department of the Second Middle School Hospital of Guangdong Province and from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to July 2020.After 2 cases were excluded,66 cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,33 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application, which started from 2 days before menstruation and lasted for 5h each time for 5d.One menstrual period was a course of treatment, and a total of 3 courses of treatment were taken. The control group received oral ibuprofen sustained release capsule treatment,0.3 g each time, twice a day, half an hour after breakfast and dinner, starting from 2 days before menstruation for a total of 3 days, one menstrual period as a course of treatment,a total of 3 courses of treatment. The dysmenorrhea score, visual analog scale(VAS score)and TCM syndrome score of cold coagulation and blood stasis in 2 groups were observed before, after and during the follow-up period(the 3rd month after treatment).ResultsThere were no significant differences in general condition, dysmenorrhea score before treatment,VAS score and TCM syndrome score of cold coagulation and blood stasis in 2 groups(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups were comparable. After treatment, the scores they got were improved significantly compared to the that before the treatment in both groups(P<0.01),TCM syndrome score of cold coagulation and blood stasis score of the treatment group is lower than that in control group, while the control group in improving the VAS score better than the treatment group, the results all had significant difference(P<0.01),there was no significant difference by comparing both groups’dysmenorrhea scores and the difference of dysmenorrhea score between the pretreatment and post-treatment(P>0.05);During the follow-up period, the scores of patients in both groups were improved compared with those before the treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the treatment group were better than those in the control group, with significant differences(P<0.01).After treatment, the total effective rate was 90.9%in the treatment group and 93.9%in the control group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The total effective rate was 60.6%in the treatment group and 24.2%in the control group during the follow-up period, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionTCM acupoint application of Mingmen and oral administration of ibuprofen sustained-release capsules have obvious efficacy in treating primary dysmenorrhea, which can effectively improve the pain symptoms of patients, they also improve the quality of life, school attendance and attendance of work. The short-term efficacy of TCM acupoint application in pain relief was similar to that of oral Ibuprofen sustained-release capsules.Ibuprofen was better than acupoint application in improving VAS score, but the latter was better than western medicine group in improving TCM syndrome of cold coagulation and blood stasis.During the follow-up period, the total effective rate of the TCM acupoint application group was better than that of the western medicine group, and the scores were better than that of the ibuprofen group, indicating that the TCM acupoint application group had obvious advantages in terms of long-term efficacy and improvement of people’s overall symptoms. In a word,TCM acupoint application of Mingmen can effectively relieve the pain and discomfort symptoms of patients suffered from primary dysmenorrhea with cold coagulation and blood stasis, improve their overall symptoms and qualities of life. The efficacy is long-lasting,and it has the advantages of safety, convenience and economy, which is worthy of promotion in clinical practice. |
