Clinical Research On The Efficacy And Safety Of Yu Huang Decoction In The Treatment Of Facial Dermatitis

Objective To observe and evaluate the efficacy and safety of cold compress by yu huang decoction for facial dermatitis.Methods Patients who were diagnosed with facial dermatitis in a dermatology clinic were screened according to the established inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria and abort criteria.A total of 96 subjects were enrolled and signed a informed consent.All included patients were divided into two groups randomly.Forty-nine patients in treatment group were treated with cold compress by yu huang decoction.Forty-seven patients in control group were recieved equal treatment but by physiological saline.Both groups were got skin care health education,oral antihistamine and topical vitamin E cream after the cold compress.The efficacy were evaluated by symptoms and signs integration,effective rate and relapse rate,and the safety were evaluated by adverse reaction.Results(1)There was a trend towards a decrease in both two groups’ scores which were statistically significant compared with treatment before(P<0.05).(2)The comparison by scores between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)Disease cure was achieved in 32.7 percent of patients allocated to treatment groups and in 10.6 percent of patients allocated to control group,which were statistically significant between groups(P<0.01).The rate of patients pronounced effect achieved in 87.8 percent of patients allocated to treatment groups and in 61.7 percent of patients allocated to control group,which were statistically significant between groups(P<0.01).(4)After four weeks’ follow-up observation on patients pronounced effect,the recurrence rate of the treatment group was 20.9%(9/43),while the control group was 51.7%(15/29).There was statistically significance between two groups(P<0.05).(5)Two patients had mild adverse reactions in the treatment group.The main symptoms were dryness,desquamation and tingling.No adverse reaction occurred in the control group.The statistically significance of adverse reactions rate between the two groups still cannot be concluded.Conclusion The treatment of facial dermatitis with cold compress by yu huang decoction is safe,effective,simple and easy to apply.The treatment is superior to saline and worthy of promotion.
