Objective:The purpose of this paper is to investigate the correlation between serum uric acid, homocysteine and carotid atherosclerotic plaque in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods:A total of 194 patients with first-episode Acute cerebral infarct(ACI)from December 2019 to October 2020 in Xianyang Hospital of Yan ’an University were selected as cerebral infarction group, and 200 healthy people in the same period were selected as control group.According to the facts, the admission information of two groups of patients was recorded, including age, sex, smoking history, hypertension history, etc.Serum indexes of two groups were recorded: uric acid(UA),total cholesterol(CHO),triglyceride(TG),homocysteine(HCY),lipoprotein a(LP(a))and carotid ultrasound results. All statistical analysis of data were carried out by SPSS26.0 software package. Results : 1.Comparison of general data between cerebral infarction group and control group: There was no significant difference in age,sex,CHO,TG,HDL-C and LP(A)between the two groups(P > 0.05).There were significant differences in smoking history, drinking history, hypertension history, diabetes history,Cr,LDL-C,UA and Hcy between the two groups(P < 0.05).2.Comparison of carotid intima normal group, thickening group and plaque group in cerebral infarction group: The levels of LDL-C,UA and Hcy were significantly different among the three groups(P < 0.01).The levels of LDL-C,UA,Hcy between normal intima group and thickened intima group have no significant difference(P > 0.05),while those between thickened intima group and plaque group have no significant difference(P > 0.05)Compared with plaque group,Hcy level in thickening group was significantly different(P < 0.05).3.The UA level in unstable plaque group was significantly higher than that in stable plaque group(P < 0.01).Hcy level in unstable plaque group was significantly higher than that in stable plaque group(p < 0.01).4.Pearson correlation analysis between serum UA and Hcy and carotid IMT: IMT in patients with acute cerebral infarction was positively correlated with serum UA and Hcy levels(R values were 0.248 and 0.564 respectively,P < 0.05).5.With the stability of carotid plaque as the dependent variable and UA,Hcy and LDL-C as the independent variables, the results showed that elevated serum UA and Hcy were independent risk factors of unstable carotid plaque(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.The increase of serum UA and Hcy levels is related to the occurrence of acute cerebral infarction.2.There is a positive correlation between IMT value of carotid artery and serum UA and Hcy levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction.3.Elevated serum UA and Hcy are independent risk factors for unstable carotid plaque.
