Objective According to the difference of expression level of trimethylamine oxide(TMAO),a metabolite of intestinal flora,in different populations, coronary heart disease was studied, the difference of TMAO level between healthy people and patients with coronary heart disease was studied, and the correlation between trimethylamine oxide level and coronary heart disease was analyzed.Methods98 patients with coronary heart disease and 104 healthy volunteers were divided into coronary heart disease group and control group from July 2019 to June 2020 in the Department of Cardiology of the second people’s Hospital of Lianyungang City. The general data and serum of all participants were collected, and the level of TMAO in coronary heart disease group and control group was detected by enzyme-linked reaction adsorption test.According to the test results, the general data and serum TMAO levels of the two groups were compared;multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors of coronary heart disease;Spearman correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between serum TMAO level and the degree of coronary heart disease stenosis.Results1.A total of 202 cases were enrolled in this group. The body mass index(BMI),the proportion of smoking, serum TMAO,blood glucose, hyperlipidemia and hypertension in the coronary heart disease group were significantly higher than those in the control group, but there was no significant difference in age and height between the two groups.2.In terms of TMAO level, the average TMAO content in the control group was(8.57 ±4.93)mg/ml,and the average TMAO content in the coronary heart disease group was(20.26±6.05)mg/l.The level of TMAO in patients with coronary heart disease was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that serum TMAO(OR=5.034),BMI(OR= 13.599),blood glucose(OR= 1.108),hyperlipidemia(OR=6.354),smoking(OR= 1.326),hypertension(OR= 12.130)and uric acid(OR=2.381)were all risk factors for CHD.4.Spearman correlation coefficient showed that there was a positive correlation between TMAO and the occurrence of CHD(rs= 0.443,P< 0.05).The higher the level of serum TMAO,the higher the risk of coronary heart disease.Conclusion1.The level of serum trimethylamine oxide in the general population was different from that in patients with coronary heart disease, and the level of serum trimethylamine oxide in patients with coronary heart disease was higher than that in the control group.2.Trimethylamine oxide is the same risk factor of coronary heart disease as BMI,hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia. The higher the serum trimethylamine oxide level, the higher the BMI,the higher the incidence of coronary heart disease in people with hypertension, high blood glucose and high blood lipids.3.There is a close relationship between serum trimethylamine oxide and chronic stable coronary heart disease, which can be used as a predictor of coronary heart disease to some extent. With the increase of serum trimethylamine oxide level, the risk of coronary heart disease increased. In order to prevent cardiovascular events,it is hoped that in the future,by interfering with the production of trimethylamine oxide in intestinal flora, the occurrence of cardiovascular disease can be prevented and the occurrence and development of cardiovascular terminal events can be delayed.
