The reality of climate change confronts humankind more directly every day, with extremes in weather conditions becoming more common rather than only rare events.Global CO2 levels in the atmosphere continue to rise, and global shifts in temperature are becoming more evident.Climate change has a significant impact on agricultural production and crop growth. However, there are few researches connected with how to improve crop production and enhance resistance to respond to climate change in China. Therefore,it is very necessary to translate related texts and learn from foreign experience. This is a report about English to Chinese translation practice, which is guided by the Skopos Theory, the source text is excerpted from a book named Climate Change and Crop Production which was edited by Noureddine Benkeblia and published by CRC Press. The translator selects Chapter two,Chapter five and Chapter ten as the translation texts. They focus on the impact of our changing climate on crop production and agroecosystems, reporting on how people and plants cope with these changes. The translation report consists of four chapters.Chapter one describes the translation task, including the source of the task, task features(of source text)and significance.Chapter two introduces the translation process, including translation preparation, translation duration and quality control.Chapter three analyzes the text at lexical, syntactic and discourse levels under the guidance of Skopos theory and discusses translation methods.Chapter four contains the translation experience and reflections as well as problems to be solved. Conclusions are drawn as follows through the translation practice:The agriculture science and technology text involves biology, agriculture science and other professional knowledge, which requires the translator to master extensive and profound knowledge; On the basis of conveying the original information accurately, the translation should maintain the rigor and professionalism of the scientific text; The translator needs to master and use various translation methods flexibly to ensure the quality of translation.
