As an international language,English plays an important role in the development of our society,economy and culture.Learning English courses has a great significance to primary school students.However,there are some problems in the current English teaching,such as the phenomenon of weighting reading and writing and neglecting listening and speaking and students are not interested in learning English.This shows that the current situation of English teaching is inconsistent with the requirements of the new curriculum standards.In order to change this situation,the author applies the blended learning model in English listening and speaking teaching of primary school.Based on the analysis of the status quot of blended learning researches at home and abroad,this paper draws on the blended learning model proposed by other scholars,and uses the Homework Box as an online learning platform to construct a trinity teaching model which integrates the inside and outside class.Three parts are independent interactive learning before class,listening and speaking interaction in class and listening and speaking practice after class.Based on the formation of the above-mentioned model,the author applied the model to the Class One,Grade Four and Class Three,Grade Four of primary school in Shanxi Province(Class One is the experimental class and Class Three is the control class).Taking the two classes with the Grade Four English textbook as the specific cases,the blended learning model is applied in the actual English teaching of primary school.In the process of the research,the author used literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,control experiment method,case analysis method and observation method.The results of this study were mainly obtained by analyzing the results of the listening and speaking tests of the experimental and control students and the results of the questionnaire survey.The results show that the blended learning model can improve students’ listening and speaking ability,learning interest and learning initiative.The author has achieved certain results after a semester of practical research.Due to limited time and ability,there are still some problems and deficiencies in the research which need to be continuously improved in future research.
