| The Ministry of Education added a " cross-border e-commerce" specialty to the professional directory of secondary vocational schools in 2019,hoping to alleviate the dilemma between the supply and demand of talents in the cross-border e-commerce industry.English skill is one of the basic skills required for employees in this industry.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the quality of English education for cross-border e-commerce major in secondary vocational schools and improve the English curriculum of this major.This study takes the e-commerce major(direction of cross-border e-commerce)in Y secondary vocational school as an example to research the English curriculum design.This study investigated through questionnaires and interviews.First of all,investigating the status quo of the English curriculum design of this specialty in Y secondary vocational school.Secondly,the theory of needs analysis was used to investigate the needs of enterprises and students.Then,combining the survey results of the current situation and needs,explain the possible problems and reasons in the curriculum design.Finally,based on the above research results,the system theory,language input and output hypothesis theory,project-based curriculum theory are used to reconstruct the curriculum.The survey found that the following problems exist in the English curriculum design of Y secondary vocational school: curriculum objectives are incomplete;lack of a systematic curriculum structure;lack of effective curriculum content;lack of diverse and appropriate curriculum instruction;lack of diverse and dynamic curriculum assessment.And then,analyzing the following reasons: The school-running idea is highly utilitarian.The cooperation between school and enterprises is insufficient.Lack of compound teachers of English for Occupational Purposes.Insufficient teaching cooperation between teacher of general English and teacher of English for occupational purposes.Students lack interest in learning English.It is suggested that the unity of instrumental rationality and value rationality,following foreign language acquisition rules,obeying the laws of students’ cognitive and professional development,content-based instruction,establishing the thought of dynamic English curriculum design.And putting forward an English curriculum reconstruction plan called "one body and two wings" for this major in Y secondary vocational school.This plan includes the overall objective of curriculum design,curriculum structure,curriculum content,suggestions of instruction,instruction safeguard and curriculum assessment.Through applying the system theory,language input and output hypothesis theory,the study reconstruct the macro structure of English curriculums.Through applying project-based curriculum theory,the study reconstruct the curriculum content and organization of English for occupational purposes.This study aims to provide a reference for English curriculum design of this major in secondary vocational schools by constructing a reconstruction plan of the English curriculum design of this major in Y secondary vocational school. |
