Toponym can indicate a certain geographical location,and belongs to the scope of geography class,and it has the language characteristics of pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,etc.Place names have rich historical and cultural connotation.Place names are a kind of cultural resources and a place of cultural symbols,which represent the local cultural connotation and reflect the natural geographical environment and cultural history environment.Guigang is an ancient county,and it also is an emerging city.Since the ancient times,a lot of lotus are planted in Guigang,so the city is called "lotus city".As part of the vocabulary system,Guigang village names are the history and culture of living fossils,which can reflect the local social culture.Researching on Guigang village names aims at finding the language characteristics,named characteristics and the social and cultural connotation of Guigang village names,which can provide information to exploring national distribution and migration,customs and culture,psychology and beliefs.The article takes 11679 natural village names in Guigang city as research objects.First of all,according to the different properties to separate and classify the Guigang village names and use the form of chart to intuitively show the classification of the villagers.Under the guidance of theory of linguistics and toponymy,analyze the phonetic features,vocabulary characteristics and the composition of the names and proper names of Guigang village names.Double syllable village names and compound village names are most.Most Guigang village names are composed the names with proper names.Guigang village names are more related to rivers,ponds,mountains.The proper names consistent with the nature of geographic entity of Guigang.And there have local proper names such as “mountain” “pond” “cabin” in Guigang,which have rich local color.Second,within the territory of Guigang,the village names reflect the unique natural geographical environment and cultural history environment.The naming characteristics of Guigang villages also closely related with these two factors.The third,on the basis of the theory of cultural linguistics and social linguistics,comprehensively analyze the relationship between Guigang village names and the folk culture,military culture of political economy,and through the village names to perspective people’s pursuing elegance,simplify,geely’s social psychology.Finally,this paper discusses the language contact makes village names appear improper words,and the transliteration is not allowed.Urbanization will change the original villagers.And puts forward some suggestions for the protection and inheritance of Guigang village names and its culture,namely to save in the form of literature,and careful with villagers changed its name.
