On The Narrative Ethics Of Qiao Ye’s Novels

Qiao Ye is one of the representative female writers born in the 1970 s.Since the beginning of the 1990 s,Qiao Ye has created a unique literary world with meticulous and incisive writing.From the individual to the group,from the daily space to the historical field,Qiao Ye’s narrative theme and literary vision are constantly expanding,but the soul narrative and life concern is always the core purpose of her creation.Whether it’s the writing of an individual’s physical experience or the depiction of a group’s mental state,Qiao Ye always dig deep into the hearts of characters,examines the incomplete and fracture in life,and presents the ethical abyss under different living circumstances.What is rare is that Qiao Ye is able to look at all people and things with broad and benevolent novel morality,comfort individual life feeling with a warm and compassionate attitude,and realize the redemption and transcendence of ethical dilemma.Therefore,Qiao Ye’s narrative ethics is very clear,but the root of it is a kind of undifferentiated goodwill.The dissertation is divided into three parts: the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.The introduction makes a simple combing of the definition of "narrative ethics" theory in China and the West,and on this basis summarizes the core theoretical essentials of narrative ethics as a critical paradigm;Secondly,it summarizes the research status of Qiao Ye’s novels and clarifies the writing ideas and innovative points of this dissertation.The body is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the ethical dilemmas faced by individual life in Qiao Ye’s novels.It takes the body and spirit as the starting point respectively,and explores the "light and easy" state of the body under the living circumstances such as "prostitute philosophy","aphasia" in marriage and love,and extreme crime.Continuing the history,entering the "Cultural Revolution","demolition",urbanization and other social fields,wedge into the specific era background of the collective spirit of the misunderstanding.The second chapter analyzes the artistic expression form of "narration is ethics" in Qiao Ye’s novels from three aspects: the detailed narrative perspective,the interwoven narrative structure and the concordant rhetoric construction.The third chapter discusses the ideological implication of narrative ethics in Qiao Ye’s novels,and expounds Qiao Ye’s ethical salvation of consoling individual life from three levels: broad and kind writing attitude,warm and compassionate emotional tone,and individual limited spiritual transcendence.The conclusion summarizes the text and points out the value and limitation of Qiao Ye’s novels.Qiao Ye’s novels reveal the black of the heart under the beautiful language,and the contradictory style is extremely artistic tension,which provides a unique scenery line for the contemporary literary world.At the same time,the limitation of Qiao Ye’s novels,to some extent,also reflects the common characteristics of the "post-70" writers,such as the small artistic pattern and the lack of profound thoughts.
