A Study Of Vulgar Discourse In Novels Of The New Period（1980-2000）

Since the new period,vulgar discourse began to appear on a large scale in the novels of this period,which rarely happened in the literature before.The appearance of vulgar discourse has brought different aesthetic features and enriched the content of novels since the new period.However,with the increasing number and frequency of use,This has created its own set of problems.The research object of this paper is vulgar discourse in novels since the new period as the starting point,and then combs the development track of vulgar discourse,so as to discuss the value and problems brought by vulgar discourse to literature since the new period.The research objectives of this paper are divided into four steps: first,the definition of vulgar discourse;Secondly,the concrete presentation of vulgar discourse in the novel is discussed.Secondly,it combs the development track of vulgar discourse;Finally,the value and limitation of vulgarity are discussed.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses discourse and vulgar discourse,including a brief review of discourse theory and the definition of vulgar discourse.On the one hand,it reflects the importance of discourse research to this study.On the other hand,it discusses what is vulgar discourse and the generation of vulgar discourse.Through the discussion,it can be found that The key to this question is the difference of context.The second chapter discusses the main presentation ways of vulgar words,including the two aspects of vulgar words and vulgar images.In terms of swearing,this paper mainly discusses the composition of swearing in novels of the new period and the difference between swearing as narrative language and paraphrasing language.Swearing as narrative language pays more attention to the expression of characters in works,while swearing as narrative language can better reflect the author’s own will or a writing purpose.In the aspect of vulgar images,ugliness and sex images are mainly discussed.Ugliness and sex themselves are not vulgar,but the excessive frequency of occurrence and excessive overflow lead to the feeling of vulgarity.The third chapter mainly discusses the development track of vulgar discourse Since the new novel Period.The development of vulgar words is divided into three periods: beginning,development and transformation.Specifically,it is mainly the vulgar discourse that began to appear under the background of "secularization",the vulgar discourse that developed in "irony" and "resistance" and the vulgar discourse that changed in marketization.Writers in different periods use and understand vulgar words differently,and vulgar words play different roles in novels in different periods.The fourth chapter focus on discusses the value and problems of vulgar discourse in the new period.Vulgar discourse has brought different aesthetic features to novels in the new period and enriched the content of works.However,with the deepening of literature marketization,vulgar discourse has begun to change from a writing strategy to a writing purpose."Vulgarity" for the sake of "vulgarity" will only lead to the development of the work in the direction of "vulgarity";At the same time,the development trajectory of vulgar discourse also represents the constant change of literary concepts since the new period,showing the trend of literature’s continuous "downward" development.
