A Report On The Liaison Interpreting In Changchun Lotus Island Leisure And Cultural Park

This report is a self-reflecting report of a liaison interpreting task.On October 8^th,2021,the author accompanies and interprets for the client,a Djiboutian international student from Jilin University,in Changchun Lotus Island Leisure and Cultural Park,which is located in the southern suburb of Changchun,Jilin Province.Afterwards,the author takes this experience as material and completes a practical report on this liaison interpreting.In this report,the author firstly introduces the background and requirement of this task,completes a parallel texts collection and a glossary list before interpreting,and provides the feedback and comment of the client and the guide.From the perspective of Gile’s effort model,the author analyzes the problems in the aspects of listening,memory,speech production and coordination in combination with the characteristics of liaison interpreting,with corresponding methods elaborated.For example,the depth of shadowing and memory training should be strengthened,and the role of interpreter in similar situations should be emphasized.The author lastly makes a summary.Through this practice of liaison interpreting,the author finds some shortcomings and hopes to take this as a lesson to improve his interpreting skills in the future.In addition,the author hopes this report will be used as a reference for learning in the future,and provide experience for interpreting in relevant forms.
