With the remarkable development of China,the communication between China and other countries has been steadily improved.Due to Germany’s good reputation in the world’s scientific community,more and more students are interested in studying in Germany.As a result,more people study German.It is a well-known fact that textbooks play a very important role in the process of studying foreign languages.The author selects one textbook edited in China and one textbook in Germany,which are not only authoritative but also have a high market share.The name of the textbook selected in China is Stichwort Deutsch,and the textbook in Germany is Schritte plus Neu.In this paper,the sub total structure is adopted,using the methods of investigation and literature analysis.This paper makes a comparative study of the two textbooks from three aspects.Through this comparative study,a useful conclusion can be drawn: if the New Intensive German Course is not revised completely,more and more users will be lost as time goes on.Schritte plus Neu,a textbook published in Germany,has distinctive German characteristics.The explanation of the phonetic part is somewhat delayed and the grammar arrangement is relatively loose,hoping to be improved.Finally,the author hopes that through the comparison of two authoritative textbooks at home and abroad,provide some useful suggestions in the selection of textbooks.
