Due to the rapid development of human society, the use of various resources is also increasing, and the greenhouse gas emission dominated by carbon dioxide is increasing rapidly. This leads to various environmental problems, global warming and the rapid deterioration of human living conditions. In this context,low-carbon economy has become a hot word.Since China’s reform, urbanization and industrialization have developed continuously, which makes China’s implied carbon emissions rise rapidly. As one of the pillar industries of China’s foreign trade, textile and garment industry also ranks in the forefront of its implied carbon emissions. Therefore,it is very important for China to study the relationship of implied carbon emissions on textile and garment export trade.First of all, this paper summarizes and combs the relevant literature both China and overseas, focusing on the research ideas, approach, innovations and deficiencies of this paper. Then,it expounds the current situation of China’s textile and garment export trade.Using the input-output model, this paper estimates the implied carbon emissions and changes of China’s textile and garment industry from 2006 to 2018.After estimating the implied carbon emissions, the relationship between China’s textile and garment industry export implied carbon emissions and industry export trade is studied and analyzed by using VAR model. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation between China’s textile and garment industry’s implied carbon emissions and export trade volume. Finally, according to the results of empirical analysis, this paper puts forward the strategy of low-carbon development of China’s textile and garment industry. It provides a reference for the upgrading of China’s textile and garment industrial structure, the scientific formulation of industrial policies and the development strategies of relevant enterprises.
