Due to the unique properties of copper,it has become one of the three most widely used metals in the world. At present, with the development of low-carbon energy and electrification of transportation technology, the demand for copper is increasing day by day. However, with the increasing reduction of high-grade and easy beneficiation copper ores, the development and utilization of poor, fine, miscellaneous and difficult beneficiation copper ores has become a trend.A copper mine in Yangla area of Yunnan Province has high pyrrhotite content and difficult separation. It is of great significance to carry out beneficiation experimental research on the high pyrrhotite sulfide copper mine in this paper.A high content pyrrhotite sulfide copper mine in Yangla area,Yunnan Province. The raw ore contains 0.81%copper and 5.31%sulfur.The main metal minerals are chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pyrite, followed by magnetite and malachite. The gangue minerals are mainly quartz and calcite,of which the content of pyrrhotite is6.8%.In the mine, primary copper accounts for 89.02%of the total copper, copper oxide accounts for 3.37%of the total copper, combined copper accounts for 3.03%of the total copper, and secondary copper accounts for 4.58%of the total copper. It shows that the copper in the raw ore mainly exists in the form of primary copper.Using the preferential flotation process, the grinding fineness of raw ore is-200mesh 80%,the regrinding of coarse concentrate-four times of flotation cleaning-one time of magnetic separation cleaning open circuit test, and the copper concentrate with copper grade of 15.70%and copper recovery of 48.16%is obtained.Using the mixed flotation process, the grinding fineness of raw ore is-200 mesh 80%,the regrinding of coarse concentrate-four flotation selections-one magnetic separation cleaning open circuit test, and the copper concentrate with copper grade of 16.34%and copper recovery of 57.58%is obtained.Through comparative analysis, the final copper grade of copper concentrate in the mixed flotation process is 0.64%better than that in the priority flotation process, and the copper recovery rate is increased by 9.42%.The copper grade and recovery rate of copper concentrate in the mixed flotation process are better than that in the priority flotation process,so the mixed flotation process is recommended. The mixed flotation process is adopted, the raw ore is ground to-200 mesh 80%,the roughing reagent condition is water glass 400g/t,butyl xanthate 200g/t,2~#oil 20g/t,the flotation time is 9 minutes, the fineness of roughing concentrate is-200 mesh 90%,lime is used as inhibitor, four flotation cleaning, one magnetic separation cleaning, after two scavenging, the cleaning I medium ore and magnetic separation medium ore are opened, and other medium ores are returned in sequence. The closed-circuit test shows that the copper grade of copper concentrate is 14.21%and the copper recovery is73.25%,the copper grade of tailings is 0.23%and the copper recovery rate is 26.75%,which meets the requirements of grade 14 copper concentrate.According to the characteristics of high pyrrhotite content in a copper ore in Yangla, this paper adopts mixed flotation roughing-regrinding of coarse concentrate-four times of flotation cleaning-one time of magnetic separation cleaning-two times of scavenging, cleaning I medium ore and magnetic separation medium ore open circuit, and other medium ores return to the test process in sequence, which realizes the effective separation of copper, provides a suitable separation process for the development and utilization of this mine, and also provides a reference for the development and utilization of this type of refractory copper ore in China.
