Research On Intelligent Furniture Design Of Children’s Picture Book Library

With the promotion of picture book reading,picture book library develops vigorously and people have more demands on the indoor environment and furniture in picture book library.However,there are still many problems of the furniture in picture book library,such as monotonous theme style,insufficient innovation in shape design,and lack of specific analysis of user’s demands.This paper takes the furniture of picture book library as the research object and regards the children aged 3-7 as the main research group.Through field investigation method,KJ method,Kano model method,analytic hierarchy process and other research methods,this paper studies the furniture features and user characteristics of picture book library from the perspective of design and demand.Then the design principles of intelligent furniture in picture book library are put forward to carry out design practice.The study is of great significance to promote the design of intelligent furniture in picture book library and enhance children’s reading experience.The key research contents and results are as follows:(1)The characteristics of furniture in picture book library are studied.This paper sorted out five kinds of classification methods of furniture in picture book library through the literature and field research.The characteristics of theme,shape,color and material presented in the furniture design of picture book library were analyzed and summarized.The famous picture book libraries are with the themed of the forest,which mainly expressed with the decoration paintings and furniture colors,but most picture book libraries furniture still lack of distinct theme characteristics.The shape of furniture is usually regular geometric form and a small amount of furniture use animal bionic form.They are generally simple but lack of innovation.The color is mostly green,blue and wooden color,which has the problem of confusing collocation.A large number of artificial board,cloth,plastic but there is insufficient application of new materials.(2)The study used observation method to study users’ behavior.This paper used natural observation method to explored the relationship between interactive posture,reading behavior,book selection behavior with furniture.It was found that users’ hyperactivity behavior often appeared in the environment with abundant furniture types,diverse shapes and dispersed placement,and witch was greatly constrained in the environment with single furniture modeling,compact placement and limited types.(3)Building user demand model and analyzing the demand quantitatively.The paper used KJ method to obtain a demand model with five dimensions,including safety and hygiene,comfort,functional adaptability,ability elicitation and appearance.The objective data was obtained by Kano model method to further explore user needs,and it was concluded that target users had 3 basic demands,4 charm demands,13 expectation demands and 2undifferentiated demands.By calculating the satisfaction coefficient of charm demands and expectation demands to rank the the importance of the demands.It was concluded that on the basis of satisfying the safety and health needs,priority should be given to satisfying the needs of painting,intelligent,interesting modeling,single reading,witch could greatly improve user satisfaction.(4)Designing the furniture of the reading area in the picture book Library.Firstly,the paper proposed six principles for the design of intelligent furniture in picture book library and put out design orientation and design concept based on the above research.Then,two design schemes were output to solve the shortage of furniture.Finally,the paper used AHP(the analytic hierarchy process)and Likert scale to screen,evaluate and verify the design.The results shown that the final design of intelligent furniture of picture book library can greatly meet the needs of users with all evaluation indexes are above 4 points.
