Research On Innovative Design Of Traditional Costume Elements Of Gaoshan Nationality In Northern Taiwan

The traditional costumes of the Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan,China,have ethnic feature.The unique style,bright color and exquisite decoration of costumes contain the ethnic cultural spirit of the Gaoshan ethnic group and are valuable intangible cultural heritage of Taiwan.Taiwan has experienced many social changes in history.However,due to the long-term living in the mountains and forests and less contact with the outside world,the Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan still retain a relatively primitive culture,and their costumes have distinct ethnic characteristics.Taiwan has been a part of China since ancient times.Studying the costume culture and art of the Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan is conducive to deepening the understanding of Taiwan,promoting cross-Strait costume cultural exchanges,and raising the awareness of cross-Strait cultural communities.This paper,through the methods of literature review,field investigation,image contrast analysis and case analysis,through the understanding of religious culture and social organization of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,sorts out and analyzes the artistic representation and cultural connotation of traditional costume styles,colors and patterns of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,so as to establish a more comprehensive understanding of Gaoshan ethnic group’s costume culture in northern Taiwan Province.Based on the above research,by understanding the fashion trends and design techniques of contemporary costumes at home and abroad,the elements of traditional costumes of Gaoshan ethnic group are extracted and integrated for systematic innovative design research and practical application,with a view to promoting the inheritance and innovation of traditional costume art and culture of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,promoting cross-strait exchanges and cooperation in costume culture,and providing reference value for innovative design of contemporary folk costumes.After theoretical research and practical exploration on the costume culture of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,the author summarizes the following understandings:(1)The Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province are divided into Atayal tribe,Taroko,Sediq and Saisiyat.As the center of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,Atayal tribe have a very close relationship with the surrounding branches,and because of their common living environment and similar social history and culture,the costumes of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province have great similarities.(2)The traditional costumes of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province are extremely beautiful.Its clothing shape presents a "square clothing system",that is,the pieces are square straight up and down.Through simple folding and sewing,the production of clothing presents simple and primitive ethnic characteristics;Clothing is colorful and bright,mainly in red,white and black.The color collocation is flexible,and the matching techniques of similar colors or contrasting colors are widely used,which shows the high color aesthetics of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province;Clothing patterns are mainly abstract,mostly based on religion or production and life.Patterns are applied to clothing in the form of sandwich weaving,which shows the extremely high weaving skills of Gaoshan women.(3)In order to better inherit the excellent traditional costume culture of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,designers in the new era need to skillfully integrate the traditional costume modeling,patterns,colors and other elements of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province into modern innovative design elements on the basis of fully understanding and recognizing the traditional culture of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,so as to inherit it in a brand-new form and reasonably apply it to all aspects of life,so as to be gradually strengthened and carried forward,and continue to show their artistic charm in the new era.This paper explores and applies the innovative design theory and practice of the traditional costume culture and artistic features of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,with a view to inheriting the excellent traditional culture and skills of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,understanding the spiritual world and creative wisdom of Gaoshan ethnic group,innovating the artistic expression of Gaoshan ethnic group in northern Taiwan Province,making more people understand and love Gaoshan ethnic group culture and promoting cross-strait cultural exchanges and cooperation.Through the design practice of this paper,I hope to inject a new perspective into the innovative application of ethnic costumes and provide reference for innovative designers.
