The ESG concept is the abbreviation of Environmental,Social,and Governance.Unlike traditional financial concerns,this concept focuses more on the realization of sustainable development and the realization of the company’s long-term value.It aims to promote enterprises In business management,focusing on environmental responsibilities,social responsibility and governance responsibilities.In recent years,due to the new development concept of "innovation,coordination,green,openness,and sharing" by the current "innovation,coordination,green,openness,and sharing",the strategic goals of the core ideas are benchmarking the country’s "carbon peaks" and "carbon neutralization".The concept of low-carbon green and sustainable development methods is highly consistent,which has received widespread attention and has become a new engine for enterprise development.my country’s automobile industry has the characteristics of a large industrial chain,a large number of employees,and large assets,which have a profound impact on domestic economic and social operations.In addition,as a high-resource consumption and high-pollution enterprises,automobile manufacturing companies usually need to bear higher social responsibility.New Energy Vehicle is one of the strategic emerging industries in my country in this context.Company Y,the subject of this study,is a leading enterprise of new energy buses in China’s new energy vehicle segment and has issued a social responsibility report for 13 consecutive years,disclosing its environmental,social and governance responsibilities.By combing through the above information,this thesis finds that Company Y’s current ESG information disclosure lacks comparability,lacks a scientific and effective performance evaluation system,and cannot accurately evaluate its sustainable development ability,so it is difficult to make correct guidance for its development.In response to the above problems,the research content is as follows:Construction of evaluation system.Based on the characteristics of the industry and the pertinence of the enterprise,this thesis constructs an ESG performance evaluation system for Company Y,and designs indicators for Company Y based on the principles of scientificity,purpose,completeness,comparability and independence.Referring to the normative documents of relevant institutions at home and abroad on ESG information disclosure requirements,15 important themes are summarized from the three dimensions of E,S and G.Then,combined with the ESG performance data of Company Y,29 specific evaluation indicators were designed according to five principles.Application of evaluation system.To reflect the comparison of the importance of different evaluation indicators,this thesis first calculates the weight of the index and finds that the weight of the indicator is social> environment > governance from three dimensions.Then,this thesis introduces the data of Company Y from 2018 to 2022 to score and evaluate the ESG performance level of Company Y.It is found that Company Y has performed well in the performance of ESG responsibilities in some indicators,but its ESG management is deficient,and the ESG performance level has declined in the past five years and is uneven in the development of the three dimensions,and there is much room for improvement in the governance performance level.Putting forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions based on the actual situation of enterprises.Because of the above problems,this thesis puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from the two aspects of ESG responsibility fulfillment and ESG performance improvement of Company Y: first,ESG should be set as the strategic goal of the enterprise,relying on digitalization to the comprehensive,complete and proactive disclosure of relevant ESG information;Next,it is necessary to build a reasonable organizational structure,set up ESG working groups,give full play to the leadership of the board of directors,improve decision-making ability,and improve the level of corporate governance;Finally,it is necessary to enhance its economic strength,take into account social and economic benefits,and achieve a virtuous circle and green and high-quality development.
