| The report of the 20 th Party Congress proposed that promoting green development is the mission and task of the Communist Party of China in the new era and new journey.The development of agricultural production toward quality,green and scientific agricultural development is an important way to solve the ecological and environmental problems in China.Research shows that social capital,as an important resource in rural areas,can enhance farmers’ willingness to green production and coordinate the allocation of green production factors.Meanwhile,when farmers participate in cooperatives,social capital can be effectively improved.Therefore,we investigate whether social capital has an impact on farmers’ green production efficiency? Do cooperatives play a role in the process of social capital influencing the green production efficiency of farmers? It is important to find out the effective ways to improve the green production efficiency of agriculture,to promote the green revolution in agriculture,and to promote the development of cooperatives for the better.Based on the theory of agricultural production factors,social capital theory and farmer behavior theory,the study used the research data of Sichuan citrus farming community members and non-community members as samples,and used literature review method,field research method and empirical analysis method to construct a theoretical analysis framework of social capital on farmers’ green production efficiency.Factor analysis was used to calculate social capital and the super-efficient SBM model considering non-desired output to measure the green production efficiency of farmers.On this basis,an OLS benchmark regression model was constructed to explore the effects of social capital and its three dimensions on farmers’ green production efficiency,and the farmers were grouped according to four dimensions: whether they participated in cooperatives,the time of participation,the degree of participation and whether they made democratic decisions,to further explore the effects of social capital on farmers’ green production efficiency after their participation in cooperatives,and to make suggestions based on the research findings.The study found that: 1.Green production efficiency of citrus farmers in Sichuan Province needs to be improved.It is found that the green production efficiency level of citrus farmers in Sichuan Province is only 0.2166,and there are still four counties and districts with green production efficiency level below 0.2,there is still much room for improvement.2.Social capital can promote green production efficiency of farmers.Among the three dimensions,social network and social participation have a significant promoting effect,while the promoting effect of social trust is not significant.3.Social capital can better promote farmers’ green production efficiency after farmers’ participation in cooperatives.The group regression revealed that social capital can better promote farmers’ green production efficiency after farmers’ participation in cooperatives,while the longer the participation time and the higher the participation,the more the voice of the members,the more obvious the promotion effect of social capital on farmers’ green production efficiency.Finally,based on the findings of the study,the following recommendations are made:1.Play the role of government to provide conditions for green production in agriculture.Firstly,to lay a good environmental foundation;secondly,to increase the investment in science and technology;and finally,to provide legal protection.2.To maintain social capital and improve the efficiency of green production.To play the social network information collection mechanism and the learning mechanism of social participation to promote the promotion and adoption of green production technology.3.Optimize the mechanism of cooperatives to promote green production.Firstly,strengthen the propaganda of cooperatives;secondly,promote the standardization process of cooperatives;and finally,pay attention to the interests of members. |
