| Objective:This study aims to explore the relationship between health information literacy and health self-management ability of the elderly by understanding the current situation of health information literacy and health self-management ability of the elderly in a city under the ubiquitous network background and their differences in general data.Influencing factors of the health self-management ability of the elderly,in order to provide baseline data for improving the health information literacy and health self-management ability of the elderly.Methods: This study adopted the descriptive research in non-experimental research and adopted the convenience sampling method.From June 2021 to October 2021,297 community elderly people in a city were selected as the research objects.Questionnaires were carried out using general information questionnaire,health information literacy self-assessment scale and health self-management ability scale.Using the Chinese version of SPSS26.0,the data were statistically analyzed by t test,ANOVA one-way analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis,multiple linear regression analysis and other methods.Result:(1)Most of the research subjects were 152(51.2%)under the age of 70;165(55.6%)were Han ethnic group;152(51.2%)were male;111(37.4%)had high school or technical secondary education;162 cases(54.5%)were employed;185 cases(62.3%)had pensions and pensions;173 cases(57.5%)had an average monthly household income of less than 3,000 yuan;171 cases(57.6%)lived in cities;There were 157cases(52.9%)who had participated in health education;136 cases(45.7%)who felt that their health status was good or above;128 cases(43.1%)who could surf the Internet;189 cases(63.6%)who had chronic diseases.(2)The total score of health information literacy of the research subjects was15.82 ±3.69 points.Among the five dimensions,the health information acquisition score was higher(5.05±1.76 points),and the health information morality score was the lowest(2.51 ± 0.59 points).There were significant differences in their health information literacy in terms of gender,age,education level,occupation,co-living object,per capita monthly household income,health status,whether they took medicine or not,and whether they surfed the Internet(P<0.05).(3)The research subjects have good health self-management ability,with a total score of 137.13±22.89 points,of which the cognitive dimension has the highest score(57.15±7.36 points)and the environmental dimension has the lowest score(32.03±6.94 points).There were significant differences in their health self-management ability in age,education level,occupation,co-living object,per capita monthly income of family,health status,place of residence,and whether or not to surf the Internet(P<0.05).(4)There was a significant positive correlation between health information literacy and health self-management ability of the research subjects(P<0.01).(5)Multiple linear regression analysis shows that health information literacy,health status,whether they have participated in health education,whether they have chronic diseases,family per capita monthly income and occupation are the main influencing factors of the health self-management ability of the elderly.The above variables explain health 66.1% of the variance of self-management ability(F=38.002,P<0.001).Conclusions:(1)The health information literacy of the research subjects is at a medium level;male,under the age of 70,with a college education or above,working in a public institution before retirement,living with their spouse and children,with a per capita monthly household income of more than 5,000 yuan,and having participated in Health education,good health status,urban residence,no chronic diseases,and Internet access have higher health information literacy.(2)The health self-management ability of the research subjects is at a medium level;they are under the age of 70,have a college education or above,are a public institution before retirement,live with their spouse and children,have a per capita monthly household income of more than 5,000 yuan,and have pensions Those who have pensions,have participated in health education,have good health status,live in cities,and have access to the Internet have higher health self-management abilities.(3)The health information literacy of the research subjects is positively correlated with the health self-management ability,that is,the better the health information literacy of the elderly,the higher the health self-management ability.(4)The subjects’ health information literacy,occupation,health status,chronic diseases,per capita monthly household income and whether they have participated in health education are the main influencing factors of the elderly’s health self-management ability. |
