Clinical Study Of The "Wu Yin Tiao Shen" Therapy To Improve Depression And Gastrointestinal Function After Stroke Based On The "Brain-Gut Axis" Theory

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of the "Wu yin tiao shen" method on depression and gastrointestinal function in patients with post-stroke depression(PSD)based on the theory of "brain-gut axis",to observe the changes of brain-gut peptide 5-HT before and after treatment,and to analyze the correlation between depression and gastrointestinal function and serum 5-HT in PSD patients.gastrointestinal function and serum 5-HT,the correlation between gastrointestinal function and serum 5-HT,and to explore the mechanism of its action in the treatment of PSD.Methods: In this study,56 patients with PSD accompanied by gastrointestinal dysfunction were selected and randomly divided into two groups of 28 cases each.r TMS treatment group used repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(stimulation frequency 10 Hz,stimulation 3s,interval17s),and the Wu yin tiao shen group used acupuncture of Yin Tang,Shen Ting,and Bai Hui combined with the five element palace tuning music intervention.Both groups were treated for the same duration,once a day,5 times as a course of treatment,with each course interval of 2 days,for 4 courses of treatment.Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-17),Gastrointestinal Symptom Scale(GSRS),Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale(SS-QOL)scores,and serum5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)levels were tested before and after treatment.Results: The comparison of general information,pre-treatment HAMD-17,GSRS and SS-QOL scores,and serum 5-HT levels between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05)and was comparable.The total clinical efficiency of the "Wu yin tiao shen" method in treating PSD with gastrointestinal symptoms was 92.86%,which was better than that of the r TMS treatment group.The HAMD-17,GSRS,SS-QOL scores and serum 5-HT levels of patients in both groups improved compared with those before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The differences in HAMD-17 and SS-QOL scores before and after treatment were not statistically significant(P > 0.05),and the differences in GSRS scores and serum 5-HT levels were statistically significant(P < 0.05)in both groups.There was also a linear relationship between changes in GSRS scores and changes in serum5-HT levels.Conclusions:1.The method of "five tones to tune the mind" can alleviate depression and related gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with mild to moderate PSD,with significant clinical efficacy.2.The mechanism of action of the "Wu Yin" method is probably through the regulation of brain and intestinal peptide serum 5-HT levels,which can protect the central nervous system and regulate the endocrine system.
