| Objective In this study,we applied Zhang’s xiaoyu analgesic ointment to treat adolescent patients with Osgood-Schlatter disease caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, and observed the differences in clinical efficacy of the patients before and after treatment,to summarize its clinical efficacy and provide a clinical reference for the use of Zhang’s xiaoyu analgesic ointment in the treatment of this disease.MethodsFrom January 2021 to December 2021,a total of 60 adolescent patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type of Osgood-Schlatter disease who were admitted to Orthopedics department of Zhangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, met the inclusion criteria and voluntarily participated in the study were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was immobilized with long leg plaster, the experimental group was treated with external application of Zhang’s xiaoyu analgesic ointment on the basis of the control group. The general data, pain score(VAS score),and degree of swelling of the affected limbs were recorded before treatment, and the pain score(VAS score),degree of swelling of the affected limbs, and TCM syndrome score of the patients the 3rd day,1 week,2 weeks, and 3 weeks after treatment.SPSS25.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis of the data.Results1.The general data of age, gender, and location of the affected limb of the two groups were not statistically significant(P> 0.05)and were comparable.2.Pain score(VAS score): The difference between the VAS scores of the two groups before treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05)and was comparable;both groups were able to improve the VAS score compared with that before treatment. The difference in VAS scores between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Both the experimental group and the control group were effective in improving patients’ pain, and the experimental group had better effect.3.The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05)when comparing the degree of swelling scores before treatment, and was comparable;both groups were able to improve the swelling compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05)when comparing the degree of swelling between the two groups. The two schemes were effective in improving the degree of swelling of the limbs of the patients, and the efficacy of the experimental group was superior.4.To evaluate the clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients after treatment,21 cases(72.4%)were cured,5 cases(17.2%)were improved and 3 cases(10.4%)were ineffective in the experimental group;the total effective rate was 89.7%.In the control group,10 cases(34.5%)were cured,15 cases(51.7%)were improved, and 4 cases(13.8%)were invalid, with an overall effective rate of 86.2%.The clinical cure rate and total effective rate of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionsThe clinical efficacy of Zhang’s xiaoyu analgesic ointment in the treatment of Osgood-Schlatter disease with qi stagnation and blood stasis type was clear. Both the treatment with Zhang’s xiaoyu analgesic ointment and the treatment with plaster cast alone were effective, and both of them could improve the clinical symptoms, relieve the pain and improve the swelling of the limb of the patients. The efficacy of Zhang’s xiaoyu analgesic ointment in the treatment of Osgood-Schlatter disease with qi stagnation and blood stasis type is more superior. |
