| With the outbreak of the new crown epidemic,a large number of news reports and news cartoons about the development of the epidemic have emerged.Among them,news cartoons with the theme of doctor groups are mostly.Both the media and the public have focused their attention on the medical staff,and their work status,words and deeds have received extensive attention.This article also focuses on the group of doctors,taking the news cartoons of China News Cartoon Network as a sample for research.This website is a subsidiary website of China Daily.com and belongs to the industry authority website.Combining the multimodal metaphor theory and the three-dimensional model of Fairclough’s discourse analysis,this paper explores what kind of media image the doctor groups in news cartoons present,analyzes how the doctor’s media image is constructed,and analyzes the relationship between the public and the media.Its cognition,and then explore the power relations,people’s values,social ideology and so on behind the network news cartoons.The study found that the doctor groups in news cartoons are mainly positive,neutral and negative.Starting from multimodal metaphor analysis and headline analysis,the author conducts text analysis on news cartoons to explore the media image shaping of doctors.From the micro level to the macro level,we will explore the production and interpretation of news cartoons with the theme of doctors.Finally,discuss the power relations and social context behind news cartoons.The study found that the presentation of the doctor’s media image is related to the media power,the official media dominates the discourse power,and the media memory is constructed through news cartoons.The lack of channels for doctors to speak out has led to the problem of otherization in the shaping of doctors’ media image.Through further research,it is found that the doctor’s media image is related to social factors,group psychology,media factors,and institutional problems. |
