Objective: To measure the anatomical morphology and medullary canal morphology of the ulna in northern adults,and to design a new type of ulnar intramedullary nail.Methods: The ulnar imaging data of adult males and females in the CT room of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University within 1 year were collected,and the inner diameter of the ulnar medullary cavity,the length of the ulna and the distance between the inner diameter of the narrowest medullary cavity and the olecranon of the ulna were measured by spiral CT.distance and other related data,and combined with the data collected in the existing literature for statistical processing.Design the corresponding ulnar intramedullary nail according to the above ulnar intramedullary cavity image data.Results: Among the 54 cases of ulna imaging data we collected,the average diameter of the left ulnar medullary cavity in males was 6.4±0.66 mm,the average diameter of the narrowest medullary cavity was 4.7±0.65 mm,and the narrowest point was far from the olecranon of the ulna.The average distance of the ulna was153.32±24.05 mm,and the average length of the ulna was 364.9±13.44 mm.There was no significant difference between the CT results of the right ulna and the left(P>0.05).The average diameter of the left ulnar medullary cavity in women was 5.56±1.14 mm,the average diameter of the medullary cavity at the narrowest part was 3.9±0.97 mm,the average distance from the narrowest part to the olecranon was 134.06±26.33 mm,and the average length of the ulna was 241.97 mm ±10.54 mm.There was no significant difference between the CT results of the right ulna and the left(P>0.05).However,there were significant differences between males and females in each group(P<0.05).Based on the above anatomical data,we designed a new type of hexagonal plum blossom-shaped intramedullary intramedullary nail.The main body of the intramedullary nail is hexagonal plum blossom prism,the tip is plum blossom,and the proximal end has a circular locking hole.The diameter of the locking nail is 2.5mm fully threaded.Through such a design,the intramedullary nail can ensure good fracture fixation and also have good anti-rotation ability.Conclusion: We successfully collected the ulnar imaging data of adult males and females in northern China,obtained the morphological data of the ulnar intramedullary cavity,successfully invented the ulnar intramedullary nail,and obtained the "National Utility Model Patent Certificate",which is the basis for the follow-up intramedullary nail.Biomechanical research and clinical trials provide the basis and guarantee.
