| Objective:This study provides a basis for the prevention and treatment of colorectal polyps by analyzing the factors associated with recurrence after colorectal polypectomy. Methods:We collected 200 patients who met the inclusion criteria from the Department of Liver,Spleen and Gastroenterology,The First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and divided them into recurrence group and non-recurrence group according to whether the polyps recurred or not.We obtained the patients’ name, gender, age, smoking history, drinking history,HP infection, waist circumference, pathological type of polyps, number of polyps, size of polyps, location of polyps and TCM evidence type,Chinese medicine intervention and other related data by reviewing the case data and telephone follow-up,and then analyzed and organized the above data to observe the correlation between recurrence after colorectal polypectomy and the above factors.Results:1.Comparison of general information:The study found that compared with the general data of the non-recurrent group, the differences in gender, smoking history, drinking history and central obesity between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05),while the differences in age and HP infection were not statistically significant(P>0.05).2.Characteristics of intestinal polyps:The study found that compared with the characteristics of intestinal polyps in the polyp recurrence group and the non-recurrence group, the pathological type, number of polyps and polyp size between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05),while the difference in the polyp distribution site was not statistically significant(P>0.05).3.Distribution characteristics of TCM syndrome types:In this study, there were 81 patients in the relapse group,of which 34 cases were damp heat and stasis, accounting for 41.98%,and other symptoms included 24 cases of spleen and stomach weakness,15 cases of spleen deficiency and hygrosis,6 cases of liver depression and spleen deficiency, and 2 cases of spleen and kidney yang deficiency, accounting for29.63%,18.52%,7.41% and 2.47% respectively.Among them, damp heat stasis is the most common symptom of recurrence after colorectal polyp surgery.4.Chinese medicine interventions:In this study, there were 86 patients who used herbal medicine for intervention,20 in the recurrence group and 66 in the non-recurrence group, with a recurrence rate of about23.25%;there were 114 patients who did not use herbal medicine for intervention,61 in the recurrence group and 53 in the non-recurrence group, with a recurrence rate of about 53.51%,and the distribution of patients in both groups with or without herbal medicine intervention was statistically significant by chi-square test(P < 0.05).Further analysis by multifactor logistic regression showed that herbal intervention could be an independent protective factor for recurrence after colorectal polypectomy.Conclusion:1.Age,HP infection, central obesity, and location of polyps are not related to recurrence after colorectal polypectomy.2.Gender,smoking,alcohol consumption, pathological type of polyp, number of polyps, and size of polyps are related to recurrence after colorectal polyp resection.3.Different symptom types can have a certain impact on recurrence after colorectal polypectomy.Among them, moist heat stasis has the greatest effect on recurrence after colorectal polypectomy, which is a risk factor affecting recurrence after colorectal polypectomy.4.Traditional Chinese medicine intervention can effectively reduce the recurrence rate of polyps after colorectal polypectomy. |
