Objective: to observe the effect of du-moxibustion on the main symptoms, signs and inflammatory indexes such as ESR and CRP in patients with ankylosing spondylitis(AS)of kidney deficiency and du-cold syndrome. Methods: 60 cases diagnosed as ankylosing spondylitis of kidney deficiency and du cold type were randomly divided into 2 groups with a ratio of 1:1,30 cases in each group. The control group used medicine according to the Doctor’s order, and the blood routine and liver function were checked regularly. The treatment group was treated with du-moxibustion on the basis of the control group, one week for 1 course of treatment, treatment time for two courses. The changes of BASDAI,BASFI,VAS,thoracic activity,Schober Test,CRP and ESR were recorded before and after treatment. Results: 1.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.7%.The total effective rate of the control group was 73.3%,and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).2.After treatment, the BASDAI,BASFI,VAS scores, thoracic activity,Schober Test,CRP and ESR levels in the treatment group and the control group were decreased in different degrees, there were significant differences between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05),and there were significant differences between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05)except for thoracic activity and ESR.Conclusion:Du-moxibustion combined with drug therapy is superior to drug therapy in improving BASDAI,BASFI,VAS scores and Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome scores of AS patients with kidney deficiency and du-cold syndrome,it is indicated that du-moxibustion can stabilize or even delay the disease progress and overall Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome of ankylosing spondylitis of kidney deficiency and du-cold type, and improve the quality of life.Meanwhile,CRP level and Schober test were improved after treatment, which indicated that du-moxibustion could balance the immune mechanism of disturbance, reduce inflammatory reaction, reduce bone destruction, improve spinal deformity and repair spinal function. |
