Objective: To objectively evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and feasibility of the two methods for treating knee joint symptoms in patients with knee osteoarthritis(damp-heat obstruction syndrome)by observing the clinical efficacy of oral Xibikang decoction combined with acupoint iontophoresis of traditional Chinese medicine.Using rigorous statistical methods to conduct in-depth analysis, compare the efficacy differences between the two research methods, and further explore the mechanism and advantages of oral Xibikang decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint iontophoresis,The aim is to provide an effective and novel TCM treatment scheme for patients with knee osteoarthritis(damp-heat obstruction syndrome). Methods: Select 72 patients with damp-heat arthralgia type knee osteoarthritis who were diagnosed and treated in the orthopedic center of the Third Affiliated Clinical Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2021 to December2022(60 cases are planned to prevent falling off by 20%),During the process,9 cases fell off(1 case exited due to personal reasons,8 cases were excluded due to epidemic isolation),and 63 cases remained after analysis and discussion. The above patients were divided into two groups according to the principle of random control, one group was set as the control group(31 cases),and the other group was set as the treatment group(32 cases). The control group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint iontophoresis, while the treatment group was treated with oral administration of Xibikang decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint iontophoresis. After two courses of treatment(14days),the degree of knee pain(VAS score),knee function(Lequesne index score),and TCM symptom scores of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were compared, and the efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. After statistical analysis and comparison, the data obtained was P=0.035(P<0.05),with a statistically significant difference. The significant efficiency of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group. Results: After two courses of treatment(14 days),the clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients was statistically analyzed as follows.Control group: clinical control 1(3.23%)cases,significant effect 8(25.81%)cases,effective 18(58.06%)cases,ineffective 4(12.90%)cases,total effective rate 87.10%.Treatment group: 2(6.25%)cases were clinically controlled,14(43.75%)cases were significantly effective,14(43.75%)cases were effective, and 2(6.25%)cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 93.75%.After treatment, the degree of knee pain(VAS score),knee function(Lequesne index score),and TCM syndrome scores in both groups were better than before treatment, and the treatment group was better than the control group. Conclusion: Self formulated decoction(Xibikang)combined with acupoint iontophoresis of traditional Chinese medicine can significantly alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients with knee osteoarthritis(damp-heat obstruction syndrome),and improve the degree of knee pain, knee function,TCM syndrome scores, and other aspects to varying degrees, improving the quality of life of the patients. This protocol is simple, safe, and effective, and is worthy of further clinical research and promotion in the future.
