Objective: In this study,we compared the clinical efficacy of acupressure based on the idea of "Su Fei Li Wei" with that of montelukast sodium chewable tablets in the treatment of cough variant asthma(phlegm-heat stagnant lung type)in children. The aim is to explore the TCM mechanism of "Su Fei Li Wei" to guide the treatment of paediatric cough variant asthma(phlegm-heat stagnant lung type),and to provide data support for the selection and use of acupuncture points in the clinical treatment of this disease. Methods:In this randomized controlled study,72 children who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group. The control group was treated with montelukast sodium chewable tablets alone, while the experimental group was treated with acupressure points guided by the idea of "Su lung and stomach".The results of the intervention in each group were analysed by observing the difference in the assessment data of the relevant scales before and after the treatment.Results:1.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of gender and age composition(P>0.05).2.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups before treatment in terms of each item of the scale and the total score of the children(P>0.05).3.LCQ scale: there was a statistically significant difference in the scores of physical,Psychological and social dimensions between the groups before and after treatment(P<0.05),and a statistically significant difference between the groups(P<0.05).4.Children’s cough variant asthma symptom and sign scale: comparison before and after treatment within the group showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of nighttime cough, daytime cough, cough with thick sputum, thirst, facial redness, chest fullness, stool and urine before and after treatment(P<0.05);comparison between the groups showed statistically significant differences in nighttime cough, cough with thick sputum, thirst and stool(P<0.05),and no statistically significant differences in daytime cough, cough with thick sputum, chest fullness and urine(P>0.05).The comparison between groups was statistically significant in terms of coughing at night, coughing with thick sputum, thirst and stool(P<0.05),but not in terms of coughing at daytime, redness of face, chest fullness and urination(P>0.05).5.In the treatment group,7 cases were cured,18 cases showed efficacy,6 cases were effective and 2 cases were ineffective;in the control group,3 cases were cured,11 cases showed efficacy,16 cases were effective and 5 cases were ineffective;the effective rate of the treatment group was 93.94% and that of the control group was 85.71%.Conclusion:1.Both the test group and the control group were effective in the treatment of paediatric cough variant asthma(phlegm-heat stagnant lung type),but the test group was more effective.2.Based on the idea of "Su Fei Li Wei",the acupressure treatment for paediatric cough variant asthma has low adverse effects and high safety, and is worthy of further application.
