Objective: To understand the status quo of nurses’ sense of professional benefit,professional identity and happiness at work,and to clarify the correlation among them,in order to provide theoretical reference for nursing managers and educators to improve nurses’ happiness at work and to further clarify the key contents of continuing education.Methods: A cross-sectional study design was adopted,and 590 nurses from a tertiary hospital in Y City,Jiangsu Province were selected by convenience sampling method in January 2022.The general data questionnaire,nurses’ professional benefit questionnaire,nurses’ professional identity rating scale and nurses’ work happiness scale were used to carry out the questionnaire survey.SPSS25.0 software was used to process the data,(?)± S was used to describe the measurement data,t test or analysis of variance was used to compare the mean.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation among job benefit,job identity and job well-being.Model 4 in HAYES ’PROCESS macro program was used to build the mediation effect model,and Bootstrap method was used to test the mediation effect.The test level was α=0.05.Results:1.The sense of professional benefit of nurses is divided into(3.88±0.75)scores,and the scores of each dimension from high to low are: The score of good nurse-patient relationship dimension was(3.98±0.76),the score of self-growth dimension was(3.92±0.79),the score of team belonging dimension was(3.86±0.79),the score of relatives and friends identification dimension was(3.85±0.77),and the score of positive occupational perception dimension was(3.74±0.83).Professional identity was divided into(3.60±0.83)points,and the scores of each dimension from high to low were: The scores of occupational cognitive evaluation,occupational social skills,occupational frustration coping,occupational self-reflection and occupational social support were(3.63±0.86),(3.63±0.85),(3.59±0.85),(3.58±0.87)and(3.53±0.88)respectively.The score of work happiness was(4.29±1.05),and the score of each dimension from high to low was: Interpersonal score was(4.56±1.04),job value was(4.39±1.05),manager score was(4.31±1.17),job characteristics score was(4.25±1.12),and welfare score was(3.90±1.28).2.The results of T test or VARIANCE analysis showed that age,educational background,marital status,professional title,position,nature of personnel,salary level,length of nursing and number of night shifts per month were the influencing factors of nurses’ occupational benefit perception(P<0.05);Age,educational background,professional title,position,nature of personnel,salary level,length of nursing and number of night shift per month were the influencing factors of professional identity of nurses(P<0.05).Age,educational background,professional title,position,nature of personnel,salary level,length of nursing and number of night shift per month were the influencing factors of nurses’ job happiness(P<0.05).3.There was a positive correlation between perceived professional benefit of nurses and sense of professional identity(R =0.860,P<0.001),there was a positive correlation between perceived professional benefit of nurses and sense of work happiness(R =0.832,<0.001),there was a positive correlation between perceived professional benefit of nurses and sense of work happiness(R =0.894,P<0.001).4.Occupational identity of nurses has a mediating effect between occupational benefit and job happiness,and the mediating effect(0.340)accounts for 71% of the total effect(1.179).Conclusion:1.Nurses’ sense of occupational benefit is at the medium level,among which the score of "positive occupational perception" is the lowest,indicating that nurses still need to improve their positive cognition of occupation;Professional identity is at the medium level,and the score of "occupational social support" is the lowest,indicating that nurses expect more social support.Happiness at work is in the middle level,and the score of "welfare" dimension is the lowest,indicating that most nurses are not satisfied with the current welfare.2.There is a positive correlation among nurses’ sense of professional benefit,professional identity and work happiness.Both professional sense of benefit and professional identity of nurses can improve work happiness.The higher the level of professional sense of benefit and professional identity of nurses,the higher the level of work happiness.3.The perceived occupational benefits of nurses can directly affect the sense of well-being at work,and can also indirectly affect the sense of well-being at work through professional identity.The sense of professional identity of nurses plays a partial intermediary role between perceived occupational benefits and sense of well-being at work.
