Purpose:Based on the concept of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, this study investigates the intervention effect of hot package on gastrointestinal function after liver cancer surgery. To provide the treatment ideas and options for earlier recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients after liver cancer surgery. Methods:In this study,40 patients after liver cancer surgery who met the inclusion criteria were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group according to the principle of random control, with 20 cases in each group. In the control group, preoperative education, routine care, precise assessment, preoperative functional exercise, postoperative strengthening of analgesia, early activity, and other conventional treatments under the concept of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery were adopted, while in the experimental group,in addition to the conventional treatments, the combined application of a hot package was started on the first day after surgery. The medicine consisted of 250 g of dried ginger and 250 g of Evodia rutaecarpa and 500 g of coarse salt, mixed well and put into an 18cm*30cm cotton bag to make a hot package, which was placed on the patient’s abdomen(Shen Que acupuncture).30 minutes each time, twice a day Until the patient discharges from the hospital.Baseline data such as gender, age, body mass index(BMI),having high blood pressure and diabetes or not, surgical time, albumin and hemoglobin were collected from both groups. The recovery time of bowel sounds, time to first passage of flatus, time to defecation, grade of abdominal distension,VAS,inflammatory indexes(WBC,NEUT%,LY%),liver function(ALT,AST,TBIL),time of drainage tube removal, health economics indexes(Total hospital costs,post-operative hospital days, total hospital days),and occurrence of adverse reactions were recorded in both groups. To comprehensively assess the effect of the hot package on the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients after partial hepatectomy.Results::There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of gender, age,BMI,hypertension, diabetes, length of surgery, albumin, and haemoglobin(P > 0.05),suggesting that the two groups were consistent and comparable at baseline.1.After treatment,The differences in a recovery time of bowel sounds, time to first anal discharge and time to first anal defecation were statistically significant in both groups(P<0.05).The recovery time of bowel sounds, time to first anal discharge and time to first anal defecation were all reduced in the intervention group compared to the control group.2.At 1d postoperatively(pre-treatment),there was no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05)in the comparison of the abdominal distension grade and VAS score between the two groups, indicating that they were consistent and comparable at baseline. At 3 d postoperatively(after treatment),there was a statistically significant difference in the grade of abdominal distension between the two groups(P < 0.05)and no statistically significant difference in VAS scores(P > 0.05).3.There was no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05)between the two groups when compared on inflammatory indicators(WBC,NEUT%,LY%),liver function(ALT,AST,TBIL),time to drain removal, and health economics indicators(total hospital cost, postoperative hospital days, total hospital days)preoperatively,1 d postoperatively, and 4 d postoperatively.4.All patients in the trial group did not experience any adverse reactions during treatment or observation.Conclusions:1.Based on the theory of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, the hot package moxibustion on the abdomen(Shen Que acupuncture)can effectively promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function of patients after liver surgery, shorten the time to defecation after surgery and reduce the degree of abdominal distension, which is conducive to the postoperative recovery of patients.2.The intervention with the hot amoxicillin pack doesn’t increase the risk of infection or affect the patient’s liver function. As a traditional rehabilitation method with high patient acceptance, simple operation, and safe and effective treatment,it is worthy of clinical promotion and use.
