Translation Practice Report On The C-E Translation Of Construction Scheme Under The Guidance Of Text Analysis Model

In recent years,with the deepening of international exchanges,the international cooperation of Chinese enterprises has also begun to be involved in the engineering field.Therefore for better communication,it is urgent to translate more Chinese engineering schemes and corresponding specifications into English.By doing so,it is also conducive to China’s engineering going to the world and being in line with international standards.According to the four steps of Text Analysis Model by Christiane Nord,this report,with Method Statement on Bored Pile Construction as a case study,explores how to translate Chinese subjectless sentences into English and choose appropriate translation strategies on the basis of fully understanding of the source text.In translation practice,based on the position of the subject,subjectless sentences are divided into ellipsis subjectless sentences and shift-type subjectless sentences.For the ellipsis subjectless sentences,the report mainly uses voice conversion method,"it" as the formal subject,and the interpretation method.For the shift-type subjectless sentences,this report mainly adopts voice conversion method,supplementing original subjects,sentence pattern conversion and other translation methods.This translation practice verifies the guiding role of Text Analysis Model in the translation of construction scheme,and it is expected to provide reference for future translation work.
